F!NE DR!VE
I know it sounds like a dumb idea but has anyone done this with positive/negative results? Just wondering cause I have a 6-pack of 8 oz. bottles on the shelf. Im currently using Castor 927 40:1 on my shee and it gets used up fast and not to mention costs alot ($20 for I think a quart) vs. Shindaiwa oil which I can get for chump change anywhere. Any ideas? Any ideas? you can, but i wouldn`t. what seems like a cheap alternative could be more expensive in the long run. cylinders, crank, cases.ect. LiftdT4R
you can, but i wouldn`t. what seems like a cheap alternative could be more expensive in the long run. cylinders, crank, cases.ect. Exactly, that stuff (as well as outboard oil, etc) is so cheap because it isnt refined as much. Ive never used it and dont know anyone that has, but for a few dollars I wouldnt take my chances with it. I know what oil works for my bike and Im sticking to it. TeamRealtreeHD
Yes, I agree. For 3, 4 or 5 bucks every 5 gallon, heck man I will do anything for that price to assure I won't seize up and casue big headaches for the future. I like the peace of mind... Can it be done? Yes, it is 2 stroke oil. So yes... Is it safe to do? Absolutely not. There are components in a bashee engine that need special care that are not found in a weedwacker. Therefore, the weedwacker doesn't need the speacial lubrication and protection that the banshee does.

TeamRealtreeHD
speacial is even better than special... it is the best out of the two. It is in a league of it's own, not just above most. Speacial.... sounds like a word that should be in Websters

4stroker
There are components in a bashee engine that need special care that are not found in a weedwacker. like what? iron bore.. conventional pistons & bearings, large clearances... the banshee engine design is nearly 30-35 years old. if your bike is close to stock i reckon you can run whatever 2 stroke oil you want
locogato11283
if your bike is close to stock i reckon you can run whatever 2 stroke oil you want i agree. while some may argue that there are better oils out there, there is no reason why a 2 stroke weedeater oil wont serve the same purpose.. i personally wouldnt throw weedeater oil in my 10mm motor, but if i had a stocker and really needed some oil, id use it. Michael Jackson
$20 for a quart of 927!?, where are you buying your oil?!?!
F!NE DR!VE
$20 for a quart of 927!?, where are you buying your oil?!?! Correction its like $20 for a Liter of Maxima Castor 927 at 1 of 2 local motorcycle stealerships. Thanks for the replies guys. I'll just needed to know. Over here on Guam, theres like only 2 places that sell the oil and I dont know of other brands of premix that could be used or even exist here . I know for sure that there is no place that carries that Klotz brand that some of you speak of. Are there any other brands of premix that are just as good as the 927? I just thtought about the Shindaiwa mix cause thats practically all thats available here for 2 strokes  .
NYUK
GUAM IS A U.S. TERRITORY. i could buy you premix galore at a local place and send it in a large usps flat rate box. 14.00 shipping.i think 927 is like 49.00 a gal. here. i wouldn`t run that weedwacker shit in my bike.i doubt anyone that posted would either.pm me if you are interested in getting the good stuff from the u.s. i can help you. are you in the service? INFINITIED
unless you wanna put your weedwacker motor in your banshee , i would stay away from it! why chance it ?
shee rips
like what? iron bore.. conventional pistons & bearings, large clearances... the banshee engine design is nearly 30-35 years old. if your bike is close to stock i reckon you can run whatever 2 stroke oil you want he speaks the truth. some shandaiwa weedeaters have chrome cylinders, and tighter tolerances than a banshee. they also run at about 10000 rpm and a 25 cc makes somewhere in the 2 to 2.5 hp range. at that hp to displacment ratio it would work out to 28 hp at 350cc. pretty close to a stock banshee. i know the ratio wouldnt be linear and blah blah blah but i dont see why it wouldnt work. those motor are also air cooled and run at about 400*F. with all this said, i would run it in a pinch, but not make a habit of it. Mjv420
I've ran pre-mix weedeater gas in my banshee before. But only as a last resort and never regulary.
