TurboBanshee420
I would say if you have those mods and stock jetting..... If you start mixing at 40:1 then you will be real close and have no more oil mess. anything above 40:1 and u should be running REAL good oil. remember when you change the mix ratio u are also changing the "jetting" so to speak, because gas will be taking the place of the absent oil. discodan0
Hello, I'm from Calgary also. On this set-up with 32:1 mix you should run 280 main, stock pilot jet and middle clip on the needle. I have seen your problem before. Before you do anything check if your card slide are not reversed. The slides can not be interchanged between carbs. Make sure the rounded part at the botton of the slide is toward the air filter and the flat part is toward the cylinders. It might sound stupid, but I've seen it many times. If this is the case, you will try to jet it never seem to get it right. Hope this helped.

Is there a good way to tell what I have for jets?

dragbanshee
Have you tried 32:1 mix yet thats the 1st thing you need to do, try that and see if it runs any better and throw some new plugs in. If your not sure on jetting and you cant get running right your gonna have to pull carbs and see what you have for jetting.

And make sure you change the plugs and gap them between .028-.

I have tons of power up top but I find I lean out If I stay on the throttle in a wheely or top of the gear in a drag. I'm guessing it is just the top of the gear. Is there a mod to the float bowel or a different jet that could help? Otherwise it is running great now... thanks guys.

I've seen bigger bowels for big carbs. Is there something like that for stokers?
Michael Jackson
Okay, I was thinking that. I've seen bigger bowels for big carbs. Is there something like that for stokers? im sure someone will correct me if im wrong, but the oversized bowls are mainly for runnin on booz because you have to burn so much more of it, so people will put them on their carbs when converting to run on it but of course a larger carb will have a larger bowl, but as far as your situation, the stock bowls hold plenty of fuel, running them dry shouldnt be an issue , you need to bite the bullet and take the carbs off, at the very least check the main jets, they are the easiest to get to, 4 screws on the bowl and then just checkout the number on the little brass jet sticking out in the middle
