Why does my shee keep burning up?

Alright so 2006 I got a 2005 shee from my wife for Christmas. It was almost totally stock.

I started coming on here a few months after I got it and now its not stock anymore. I got in contact with herrjugsracing.com and he did the port work on it.

I kept the stock pistons and put on everthing that you see in my signature at that time. Well, It took me a while (and I think this may be the problem) but I want some advice from y'all. I was getting this gas from a place in the area where I live.. It says on the pump that its 100 octane. The gas station is kind of sketchy with some weird-o people working there, but I didn't have to mix the gas because (it says) its 100 octane. Anyways I rode it for about 4 trips to Gordon's Well and Glamis and love it. I randomly burnt up the stock pistons on one of the trips (I dont remember all the details because it was a while ago) but it sucked I burned up the ground strap off the spark plug. I scored the side of the jugs and had to get bored out to the next size up from stock. Then, I got some Weisco's from Kevin and put those in. All was good again...

The second set of pistons...

So the 1st trip out with the new pistons I spend all weekend at Gordon's Well brakeing it in. Then on Sunday when we are about to start packing it up I start up the shee (its still warm) and am about to go for a 3rd gear pinned plug jetting check. So im in 3rd gear flying down the sand highway pinned for about 3 seconds in 3rd and kill the bike, bust out the left side plug *sweet looks perfect* then I bust out the right side plub *sweet the fu(king ground strap just burnt up* so I get it back to camp, take a shot of jack, and pack up everything.

Have had the bike sitting around in the garage all broken until last weekend. I took it apart and the piston is screwed up. Big black pits in the top of it. The left side was fine and I could have reused it, but decided to buy 2 new ones anyways.

So now its back together and im scared that its going to happen again. One person suggested that I take off all the timing and put in bigger jets. So, I havent touched the timing, but I put 350 jets in there instead of 340 jets.

When talking to Kevin he thinks that the gas might be sh*tty that they have at that place because my friend has about the same set up and he has burnt off the ground strap and fried a piston as well. So from now on im going to get C-12 108 octane and run it mixed 50/50 with 91 octane. Hopefully with the 350 jets and VP good gas I wont have the problem anymore. I just dont want to have to tear this thing down again for a while.

Anyone have any imput?

sounds like you are getting some totally shitty gas, cause 100 octane should be fine holding back a 160 comp motor from deto. i would back the timing off to +4 instead of the +6 that it says in your sig. your mains sound good. i'm going to be droping down to 350's from 360 in my shee. what's the needle clip position at?

i just noticed that in your sig it says that you have k&n pods. go to like 350's-360's mains and try that.

First thing is check for a air leak, the first time it seized, did both pistons seized or just one and if just one how does the piston looks on the top, what color, the one that did not seized? You said you haven't touched the timing, maybe the bike had a timing plate on before and someone else adjusted it?

If all off that is good and its not the fuel, I am willing to bet your CDI is bad, "stuck" in advance, I had it, man I went threw 3 sets of pistons 5 years ago... I could pull out all my hair I did not check the timing with a timing light, I just went on bigger with the mains, when it look good, just a few hard runs.... bah....!!!!

Check your ignition timing with a timing light if you can't find the problem, look for signs of detonation, it does not sound like a lean condition, more like detonation...

i'd say the leak down test is a must.just might be getting some air around the intake bots or something.also tear the carb apart that is on the side the piston is burning up.you might just have a main jet that has a little peice of dirt or sand in it. if you take it too kev i'm sure he will fix you up

Bring the bike up to me with the pipes and carbs off. I will leak it down for you no charge. You can do it when you come pick up the head. That was you right?

My brother ordered the head. Im Dustin... I just was up there not to long ago to get the pistons and gaskets.

I'll probably cruse up there with my brother when that head comes in. Thanks yo!

a little piece of sand ain't going to plug up the main jet. it would have to be like a little stone that's like .030" in diameter. hard to plug up mains, especially the 350's or whatever he's using. he's either got a air leak and/or deto happening.
