Porting for a 4mil and domes

Recommended Posts

if i cut my domes to compensate for a 4mill stroke what do i have to do with the ports? i want to use my stock cylinders. is there anything that i have compensate for with the longer stroke and no stroker plate in?

If you're running it without the spacer plate and cut domes, its a waste of money to run a stroker crank, thats my opinion.

If you run it with cut domes, without the plate it need to get reported, port timings will be off. All the ports needs to get lowered by 2mm and the amount you raise the port roofs it will depend what type of port job you want..

i'm kinda tosing around the idea of going to a 4mil stroker and my current cylinders have the race logic stage 3 port job. what will i need to do, to make my current ported cylinders work? i know head mod for sure, but what else?

What did you cut your transfer and exhaust ports to, how many mm from the port roof to the deck? There is a possibility that you may not be able to report for a 4mil.

And, 2strokespirit....I disagree, I would never run a 4mil with the plate. A nice port job will put your port timings where they need to be. With the spacer plate everything gets raised 2mm, which wouldn't be nearly as beneficial to someone building an engine for low to mid power. Also is just one more place for an air leak to form. Leave the port durations to the builder doing the portwork not a damn spacer plate.
