mdhc500
Just an update for anyone that may have similar problems. My compression was good at 155+ psi in both the rigth and left cylinders. The reeds were good, the harness again checked out good and I have good ground and all ends of the plugs and harness. I took the carbs off, and cleaned the ever lovin piss out of them with carb cleaner, checked the float height and range of motion, I put the carbs back on and verified they were in sync. I removed the in-line fuel filter, as I belive it was causing just enough bend in the line to partially collapse the line and thus starving the right carb of fuel some how??? Anyway I put it back together and took it for a 2 hour ride and it ran great. I am having another minor issue as my throttle stuck WOT three different times??????????? Anyway it's running again for now... Edited August 18, 2008 by mdhc500

mdhc500
Good to hear you got it runnin right, carefull with that wot! Thanks man... And the WOT really got my attention! I was cruising through the woods and had a big turn coming at me and all of the sudden it hits the power band and it took me a sec to realize what was going on and by the time I did the front end was up and I was fumbling trying to jump on the back brake... It was a wild ride for a sec... My buddy behind me was wondering what the hell I was doing... I guess I will lube the throttle cable good, make sure the tops are tight on the carbs and maybe clean them both again! I think it sitting for 6 weeks got them gummed/varnished up??? BenBB
Right on good to hear you got a good ride in (finally heh). I've had my throttle stick wide open twice; once it was the little brass guide thing that the slot on the slide rides in (it was loose and I just had to put it back in and ding the aluminum), the other time was before I ran an in-line fuel filter and one of the strainers on the petcock fell off inside the tank allowing whatever was in there to get into the carb, a little piece of what looked like rubber lodged in the needle seat and wouldn't let the slide lower. And yeah it was a wild ride both times haha! Anyway you might look again and see if your filter or a smaller one will work, I think it's a good idea to run one but it ain't worth it if you have that dead cylinder prob heh. Good luck.
