wittle350
I had some old coils layin around that are good and some 8mm plug wires from street rod build and wanted to see if they would fit in the coil and they did. I guess my question is will the 8mm plug wires do any damage to my motor? Has anyone else done this? Just want different color of plug wires. I dont see any problem with running the plug wires. The only coil I have seen where you could do this was with a Nology Coil. You can just throw any coil on your banshee. They have to have certain primary and secondary winding resistance. josh
wittle350
100% positive this is a stock coil.
jbooker82
and you just pull the wires off and snap new spark plug wires on?
LiftdT4R
100% positive this is a stock coil. On a stocker the plug wires are permanently attached. I wouldn't go cutting them and splicing new wires in.
wittle350
sorry guys having bad enough day as is  , Im no no idiot and on a stocker all you have to do is unscrew he wires out of it bu you have to leave the litle plastic clips out and the 8mm wires will screw right back down into the coil. mdhc500
I have a stock coil, and if you undo the retaining clip the screw right out... Just use 5000 (5K) ohm boots... NGK makes good ones...

LiftdT4R
No i dont think i would even try anything like that with some plug wires, lol not that redneckish Wow, I have to take a look at the stocker I just pulled. I could have swork those wires didnt come off. Maybe it's just the plug boots Im thinking of. I think I paid like 140 for my Nology with the hotwires. But then youll have to fab up a bracket to mount it on. I just used some angle aluminum.
wittle350
Damn man that sucks you gatta pay $140 for a part and then you have to fab parts so that part will work, that company should be sending the relocation bracket with it for that price. xXBlessedWithDeathXx
the plugs dont come out on mine. i put the cutoff wheel to the coil to see if it could be done and no good. i used a extra coil. on what i seen it looks as if the plug wire is soldered to the coil.
