shee4speed
I have a billet impeller and realized the water is not circulating. So I pulled the water pump cover and the impeller is completely sheared off of the shaft. :: What the heck would cause that?
KaosBanshee44
That's insane that the plastic gear that connects to the crank gear didn't shear instead of the billet impeller. I have no clue man...lol
flyhighprerunner
Im also stumped on why that would happen.....take some pictures
shee4speed
I just pulled the whole clutch cover off and the gear is perfect. As soon as my wife gets home I'll post pics. She has the camera. This is really screwed up.I just ordered another one and engine ice and gaskets. It better not happen again.Do you guys think it was defective? Paddleboy
holy shit man.. the only thing i can think of is a defect in your impeller.. that platic gear should have stipped out first.
bansheejoel
damn, please tell me thats not a pro-design, it sure as hell looks like one. I hope mine doesnt do that to lol Edited August 10, 2008 by bansheejoel
bansheesickness
if thats a pro design you should call them up and have them send you a new one. thats rediculous, their selling point its it wont break like the stock ones. ive been running stock impelllers for years and just reccently switched over to pro designs billet impeller. im gonna be one unhappy camper if myne breaks. its a good thing you cought it, i didnt know you can even see the water flow, where do ya check it at? shee4speed
yep,its a pro design. The reason i bought it was because of the great things everybody says about them. I got it from Jeff at FAST. It's not his problem though. Maybe I will call Pro Design. Anyone have there #. I ordered the same one and wonder if that was a good idea. The reason I caught it was the coolant level was low and I filled her up and fired it up,and no coolant movement in the radiator cap. So I let her idle and the head got hot as hell and the coolant was still cold in the radiator. This sucks balls though. heres what they say, website Edited August 10, 2008 by shee4speed

bansheesickness
no problem, let me know what they say.... cause i have two bikes running their impellers and i am courious as to what they think caused it. i dont see anything other then a manufacturer error. like what was said above, that a plastic gear should of givin before a billet part does.
