Compression vs Timing

Recommended Posts

HI there

I am about 1000m (3280ft) above sea level. Running 20cc domes I am right at 154 compression. Will it be safe to run 4 degrees timing advance without detonating? I figured I should maybe go down to 21cc domes if I advance the timing? I am running 93 octane gas. I never had any problems with detonation with the 20cc domes ever, just worried if I advance the timing to 4 degrees it might start detonating especially on longer straights when going WOT while its pulling hard in the last few gears..

Thanks

wow... you are getting 150+ psi compression at over 3000' with those size domes??? Are you testing

on a cold engine? ANd yes you should be good at +4, just be sure you are running some higher octane

fuel at anything over 150 psi...

Yes, if you check out the Noss site you will see they actually say 156. The thing is I do not want to run anything higher than 93, it is to much of a hassle to get the higher octane fuels here...

The 156 is for 1000' not meters, and I misread... I thought you said 22cc domes... I was wondering!

lol
