fastlilone
Alright everyone, I got some inside information (good friends with the local dealer) anyways, he says that he has been told officially this is the last year of the Banshee. I know, I know, We have all heard this before, but I think this may actually be the truth. However, he also mentioned that Yamaha is anouncing a new model next month. I think he knows more about it than that, but I couldn't get anymore information out of him. I will keap at him and let yea all know if I find out anymore more information. Anyways, later yea all. and hopefully someone can prove me wrong.

sHee Dawg
I tell ya what, If you live in Ma. you may be right, there is a bill waiting to be signed right now that no more 2 strokes will be sold in Ma.SUX huh You can own one and re-sell it but to goto a dealer and buy one...nope your screwed. Time to go outa state to buy. Witch isnt a problem since NH. has no sales tax In 2006 will be the last year for all states for production 2 strokes, so i've been reading

Phase
I think it will be here for a couple more years. The best thing would be if they created a 2-stroke twin with fuel injection. I don't think that will happen though. But I'm not planning to sell my Banshee (this is my dreamquad) so it doesn't really matter to me anyway. Holyman
The sky is falling the sky is falling!!! I can't imagine how many Banshees have been sold based on panic buying that it will be the last one ever made. One day they will stop being made for real but the economy is too brittle to expect people to buy a quad that will only be a Raptor under another name {because I'm sure it won't be a 2 stroke} and you know they'd never make it less expensive and they'd have to put 100's of thousands of dollars into manufacturing it. If they have in fact made the last one, the ones I own just doubled in value.
stu
the new quad will almost certainly use the 450 4-stroke motor out of the yz450f bike. alot of people here ini the UK have been using those and honda 450 motors in quads, especially in banshee frames. ill stick with my shee and hand them all their arses when they want a race stu
fastlilone
as far as the new machine is concerned, I would bet it won't be a 450, then it would be just missing the 440 class for racers and then they are racin the big dogs. But yes, I about garentee a four-stroke and I guess it would be quite possible for them to stick the 450 bike engine it in, I just think they would stick under the 440 limit
ator
Yamaha will most likely use the same 450 engine thats in the Motocross bike, hopefully exactly the same, and they will put it in an all new frame. Look for Honda to do the same thing. (Probably EX based frame) Should be competetively priced with the Z400, $5500-$6000 As far as the 440 class goes, look for that to change to a 450 class. Or some kind of exeptions will be made. The 450 is actually 449cc so maybe drop it to 444 and squeeze it in with the 440 class, but they definetly don't want the 426 engine in a quad, the public wants the 450 engine, from what I hear it will tear the 426 a new ass and will also beat the 250 2 stroke. If Yamaha comes out with this bike for 2004 I will definetly pick one up, and of course keep the Banshee as well.
fastlilone
Alright, I talked to him again today and got a little more information. He says the new quad will have either the 426 or the 450 engine in it. He also says that the banshee being gone is still just a rummor that he recieved from "two reliable sources" and it isn't just a selling ploy, he knows I just baught one a while ago. So think what yea all want, I hope he is wrong
