pinned247
I bought my 2002 Banshee a few weeks ago for $2600. I had it out about two times and it runs awesome. I took the power washer to it and blew off the Y in Yamaha so I decided to wash off the rest of the graphics on the tank and rear fenders. I thought it looked better with the graphics so I Edited August 6, 2008 by pinned247

pinned247
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I didn't do any of the mods. It was all done by the prior owner. I have read and researched the forums and know that the boost bottle is crap. I have every intention on taking it off but haven't gotten around to it yet. Thank you for the welcome.. TeamRealtreeHD
About time you post something... Like others have said, lose the boost bottle. Either put the stock cross over back on, or get a new intake. In terms of the degree key, many are against it, but many, in our area too, run them without any problems. I personally like peace of mind, so I got the timing plate instead. It is adjustable, so if your bike doesn't like +4, you can adjust to +3, +2, +5, +6, etc. Most banshees feel good on +4. Mine likes anywhere from +4.5 through +6. Either the Grarly's or the fatty's are good. I like the grarly as you know. Just a sick sounding pipe, and everyone around us has fatty's. And you gotta port that bitch... no mod will get you more power, no mods combined. Especially if you have someone that knows what they are doing do it. Noss heads are the only way to go... PERIOD. Great quality, and power increase will be there too. Depending on what ytou want in terms of power, you can bump your dome size on the Noss head down to 18cc or 17cc like me, and run race gas to get more power with higher compression. Most guys around us will run 19cc or 20cc domes to run pump 93. Either is a good choice, but you can't get the race gas on weekends... only bad thing. I always make sure I have it so I don't run out. Get a compression tester and keep an eye on your cylinder PSI. That will tell you what gas you need to run. With +4 timing, and 19 or 20cc domes, you will b e able to run pump gas for sure. General rule of thumb is <150PSI is good for pump gas. My bike has 185PSI, and it is calling for around 105-108 octane, but 105 is showing good signs right now. So I think I might stick with it. The compression tester will also tell you when you need a top end rebuild.

TeamRealtreeHD
pinned247's bike runs pretty darn good for being stock. Climbs some nice size hills with that bike. Can't wait to see it with some pipes and some bolt ons. Maybe even some timing advance. Shee will be ripping
T_Shee
sweet looking quad man, very nice and clean. on a side note do you guys like running just the pegs without the metal heal guards? i cant afford nerfs or aftermarket ones and mine are looking rough, seems like it would be best to just take them off. not trying to steal the thread

We don't jump alot, just hillclimb. We save weight, and we don't need them. I have been climbing quads on the hills for a long time and never had an issue due to wearing a boot that bites and sticks on the peg. Others may argue here, but that is my experience. If you jump the slightest bit, keep nerfs of some sort on there. But I don't, and I don't think pinned247 does either.

I actually do like to jump...but I love to climb so I'm kind of on the fence when it comes to nerf bars. I do like the look of them...and I definetly don't want my foot ripped off but I think I might get them in the future just to stay on the safe side....and it would look like tits in a basket...if you ask me a bunch of tits that I can take home in a basket is down right awesome! Mjv420
Yeah nerfs or heelguards are a good idea if you plan on getting a little crazy with it, I whatched a buddy of mine ramp a hill and land wrong just to get his ankle gobbled up by the rear tire and it ended up breaking it and he made about 5 or 6 snow angels in the snow  The only thing he didnt regret was the morphine they gave him. I did have my banshee set to +5 degreees in timing but eventually I put it back to 0. On +5 it felt like it had more power available down lower up to top but it wasnt as explosive as it was on 0, it was more mellowed out. Its still set on 0 now and for the kind've riding I do I have to say I prefer it over when i had it timed to +5.
