jay shafer
Which set of cylinders would u guys choose to put on a 7mill billet crank for 1/8th mile drag. Right now i'm running a set of A&S drag ported stock cylinders. Would you run the billet mini twisters, cheetah cubs, cheetahs, super cubs, or possibly the dm cylinders? If possible could u guys tell which would u choose and why? Im about 230 pounds on a cut stock frame. I'm trying to get to some 6.0's to 6.40's. Thanks in advance! 06BaNsHeE
If money Is Right Do a DM but Cubs are good motors also.a 7mm Cub will run 6.0s if setup right.
rubberneck
I think that bang for the buck the cub is the way to go. However, it seems that all the hardcore big HP guys are going toward the DM and even the DMX. I dont know much about the twisters, but have seen some dyno runs on other forums and they are also making sick power. Guess it depends on what you want to spend. The thing about the DM is it is going to require some pretty extensive case work to use on stock cases. I believe they need to relocate some studs and open up the transfer area. Not sure about the twisters in that regard. If you want to avoid all the extensive casework, you may want to look towards the Cheetah, i dont believe a ton of case work is required on them. I know they will need to machine for the larger bore, but do not believe they need to relocate any studs.

BigRed350x
I'd say the twister cylinders. But you will need to have a little port work done on them to get them to run as good as possible. Factory porting on them is good, but not best. They have a normal sleeved cylinder so if you have some nasty failure you can re-sleeve them without the down-time of re-plating nicasil. If you spray I'd go with twisters. The DM's are a good cylinder and it seems all the big guys run them. The twisters you can get the adaptor plates and run your current intakes and exhaust. Witht he DM's I know you need different intakes, and reeds and maybe a different exhaust, but I don't know about exhaust. The DM's I've seen us a larger exhaust, but I've heard they can be cast in different exhaust sizes, but I doubt they would cast them with the small stock eshaust size. Plus with the twisters you can change to bigger intakes and bigger exhaust when you are ready to move up. Twister cylinders get my vote. I've seen the twisters run hard with the right porting, and they handle some big spray. Edited July 27, 2008 by BigRed350x
badcompany
I would go dm or twister setup. Truthfully, a lighter rider and good setup has potential to run the times you want on your current motor but at 230 lbs your gonna need a strong motor and a very good setup. I think i am leaning towards the twister setup...Does the big twister with the powervalves come in a 7mm? I think the sleeved cylinders would be good in case i would use some spray in the near future. Correct me if i'm wrong but with the billet mini twister i don't need any case work done right..... locogato11283
why 7mm? 10mm cost the same money and youll get more power.

STINKYDELUXE
I have a 10 mil super and i really think i should have spent a little more and got the cheetah with power valves. but just remember if you go much bigger than 68mm you will have to split your case to bore it out so the cylinders fit. i would port your case if you go that route

STINKYDELUXE
I'm sure it does.but the main reason i want power valves is I think it will help my poor driving ability with a much wider power band. meaning if i shift a little early it will still accelerate without needing me to clutch it to get back the rpms. thats just my thought.
