HID Lights

Recommended Posts

Hi all new to the forum and found lots of great info. I'm looking to install Trailtechs 4" Hid lights do I need a 200 watt stator to do this right or can I use the stock one. I have read a bunch of bad things about the ricky stator on this board. What r you guys using to power your hids. Any info would be great. Any one have pics of the kragen 7" HID lights installed on there shee?

Thanks

Mike

On a banshee to run HID lights you have to totaly rewire the lighting circuit. You have to do a DC Conversion, float the ground on the stator, wire in a voltage regulator/rectifier, and add a battery or capacitor.

Stock banshee's lights are AC current. HID's require DC.

Yea I know all that. I need to know if the stock stator is able to do what it needs to do after the ground wire is floated. I just read allot of bad things about the 200watt ricky stator. Is any one running a hid set up with the ricky stator stator with no problems?

Thanks Mike

I run a stock stator on my dc conversion. It will work fine if you buy the right battery for it.

Sweet thats what I wanted to hear. Couple more questions if you don't mind.

What battery would be best for the stock stator? (I don't need a stator so price don't matter.

I plan on running the Trail Tech SC4 HID 40 watt lights. Is this ok with stock stator or should I run the SC4 HID 30 watt ones?

Thanks Mike
