poorboy
Hello everyone, Well i have a question i put on a used set of sst pipes rejetted 280 mains needle 3 clip air screws 1.5 turns snorkel off did a plug chop everything looked great and was working great.. then after riding it for weeks i started getting bog at start up rechecked the air screws turned them to 1 1/4 out and got the bog out again but when i take it down the road jumping on it hard and stop it seems like its running out of gas to the point that i will not even idle right and stalls sometimes. if i wait like 30 sec. its ok again. ok now heres the question has anyone had to change the float height after putting on pipes? has anyone heard of this before? any input would be great Thanks
BenBB
I've never had to adjust mine but it's conceivable they could be out of adjustment, 20-22mm is the height from the gasket surface (without gasket), couldn't hurt to check it just in case. Could also be fuel starvation elsewhere, like at the fuel tank strainers, you can remove the fuel petcock and check those...more often they just fall off in there and let debris into the carbs but clogging is possible. Good luck.
