06BaNsHeE
i was thinking about getting a rap 700 but i love my shee the power is crazyso im just gonna due up the shee instead of spending 8k on the raptor i see your tryin to get rid of your z and the 700 so i guess u like the fell of the banshee over the 4 stroke I was going to get rid of them to get a drag banshee but now Im prolly keeping them. This banshee will prolly never see a trail in its life lol I have two good trail bikes. If ALL you do is trail ride and mud ride I would get a raptor.Stock on stock and piped vs piped and bolt on vs bolt on the raptor 700r is faster. Wildcardracing
I'm not sure why you would even retard the timing... Power adders, ie: nitrous. The only reason I could think of running retarded timing. More than likely the previous owner didn't know what the - and + meant...lol As for the problems with the pull in the higher gears, yes it could easily have been the cause. Would have killed what little low end your shee might have had.

T-daddy
could it also make it a little harder to start the bike with the timing being retarded ok i started the bike up today it sounded funny after going +4 it reved faster it was like really high idle so i lowered the idle then it sounded normal but when i reved it i noticed when it calms down to idle i hear a rattle coming from the topend not loud but i noticed is it detonating or is that a sound it gets when u advance the timing
dajogejr
Put the plate to 0. At 120 PSI (if that's an accurate reading from an accurate gauge) with pump gas it shouldn't detonate. But, if you put a few steel ball bearings in the motor when it's running, that's what detonation sounds like...not good. Do you know what size jets are in the carbs??
