Mmm.. no... If you mean the hole to catch dirt and drain it if water got in it, there should be a little clear rubber boot over it.

It is meant to replace the stock lid. Obviously if you have already removed the stock airbox lid, adding this filter will not improve airflow, it will restrict it. However, in my case, I do not want to just remove the lid, nor am I comfortable with having it that way with no lid at all. So this "Power Lid" should provide more airflow in place of the stock lid.

Just wanted to share my experience with the powerlid...it's a waste of money. If you plan to do any riding where mud and/or water are unavoidable it will cause you problems. The drycharger (supposedly water resistant silicone? impregnated outerwear) does a piss poor job of preventing water from passing through. The end result is a water logged filter through which your engine cannot draw air. It will bog and will not clean out. Trust me, I've been there and done that. Actually, running an open airbox with the standard K&N replacement filter works far better because of the shape of the filter, the water rolls off before totally soaking into the filter. Just my two cents. I wish that I'd have saved myself 90 dollars.

This is what I'm looking for, thanks. Although I do not ride in the rain and try to avoid any water so I might not have that bad of a problem. Did you rejet as per the K&N manual or did you already have other mods with proper jetting? The K&N instructions are saying increase jet size on one side more then the other. IE, increase the left side 7 sizes and the right side 11 sizes. (If going from a stock box with lid to the PowerLid).
