Well I'm sitting here reading up on some of my other forums and was curious if any of you guys have run your daily driver pick-up down the 1/4 mile? I'm planning on building my current daily driver up so that it will still be my daily driver, and I can take it to the drags on certain nights. You can also post pictures/info about the truck that you ran

06 Nissan Titan King cab Intake and exhaust only.

14.54 at 94.07 MPH with a 2.107 60ft.

Those are some pretty good times for a truck

What are the specs on the truck, gear ratio, 2 or 4wd, engine, truck weight, tranny?

1991 gmc syclone......stock except for intake and a cat back exhaust.....13.07 @ 102mph 1.7 60ft

2wd weighs about 5,000 lbs

5.6 liter 32valve DOHC all aluminum rated at 305HP and 385ft lbs(Nissan rated these very conservatively)

3.36 gear ratio(little gears but the tranny makes up for it)

5 speed auto(Nissan claim the steep gearing in the tranny is equivalent to a 4speed with 4.10's)

Headers and a tune and the truck will see 13.7-13.8

It ain't got nothing on the big turboed diesels, but for what it is, it's very impressive for gas.

Right on!

I'm hoping to get my trucks close to the 14's to start with. Going to take a bit of time and money, but we'll get er' there hopefully.

A buddie has a 97 f350 2 wheel drive excab that went 13.8 with a 50 shot of spray and a programer. still looking for more!!!!!!!! fixen to go to a later model turbo and charge air cooler to see what that will do. truck still has no problem pulling a 40ft goose neck with a load of 4wheelers.

I won't be running any drugs, just fuel

Right now I have BHAF, Boost Elbow, XZT+, 3" DP to 5" straight exhaust, Goerend High Pressure Valve Body and that is about it for performance mods. I'm doing some body work right now, and then getting some work done on the front end. After that I'm going to start back into performance upgrades....tranny rebuilt to hold the HP, new exhaust manifold and some style of turbo (still got to see what would suit me best), another or more programmers that I am able to stack, the list goes on!

yea i know what you mean i think i might have bought his spare truck ,a 1999 f350 with a 7.3 and a 6 speed. so i will be spending a lot of money on it. got to build the motor back in it seeing how the guy before him ran it with out the air filter in it.

The 7.3's are still one of the best engines Ford ever used in their SD's, so enjoy adding mods

I'm going to also be using this truck as my Daily Driver so I can't go too overboard. For starters I'll build up to about 400-450HP and go from there :geek:

Cool man. Sounds like you have a very good platform to start with. I like the cummins engines.

I like the way they sound compared to there V8 counterparts. My buddies got an 04 2500 cummins,

nice truck. The next generation Titan is going to ba a Dodge/Nissan partnership,so I'll be able to get

the CTD in a Titan! It'll be a 1/2 ton light duty version though.

I'm a big fan of Cummins, and I'm pretty good with the 24 Valve VP44 Engines. I too like the sound of an Inline Diesel more than a V-Config Diesel engine. Sure the V-config engines like the Duramax and the Powerstroke are generally faster at the drag, but I'll stick to my low end Torque and easy balanced engine  And of course the internals in the Cummins are quite a bit larger than that of the PS or Duramax. V-Config Diesels sound too gas engine like for me. If it wasn't for the Turbo whistle, people would think it was a Gasser in the distance (I'm talking straight exhaust).

And yea Dodge is bringing out a Half Ton truck with the new option of a V-6 or a V-8 Cummins. This would be great for the people that tow a bit, but also like the nice smooth ride of a 1/2 ton.

They are nice engines for sure! Coworker of mine just bought an 08 Quad Cab, Long Box with the 6.7 with a 6 speed behind it. I havn't gotten a chance to look at it too much but man that thing is quiet! But, that is what majority of people want, quiet diesels. So might as well go to a Common Rail set up and have the duration that the injector sprays, go for longer.

There are a few companies out there right now that have chips, exhaust and possible a couple other things for the new 6.7's. As of right now it is probably a little tricky to work your way around the Emissions stuff, but all in time maybe. I also like the VG Turbo they threw on the 6.7 :geek:

I know there is a place in tx that is making a kit for the new 6.4 fords to take off the dpf. they claim that the 6.4 without the dpf is making like 700 hp!!! i would like to see that monster.
