Does eveyone's shee suck on gas?

Recommended Posts

my shee is a gas guzzler! One 10 min trip down the road and a quarter tank is gone! LOL is this normal?

You definately have a problem. I can get 5 to 6 hours of non stop riding on a tank of fuel and I got a 492. I'd start by checking float height.

When I had the keihin 35 mms and filled up the tank I rode a coulpe of laps around the block and the tank atleast looked half empty  ,

but totally I got maybe an hour on a full tank.

After switching back to OEM cabs I get maybe twice that... would say between 2 h and 3 h is normal depending on riding style

Check your plugs for correct jetting and that the reeds close fully, if you don

I am always the first one in the group to hit reserve. My buddy rides an 06 and he can go a lot longer than I can. I have a 6 pack rack and sometimes I think I need to use it to carry an extra gallon of gas!

2 strokes are notorious for consuming more fuel

than 4 strokes. there are twice as many power strokes

thus more power. so its going to use a bit of fuel.

IMO if you are concerned with fuel consumption, you

need to look at something other than a banshee.

I MIGHT get a couple on mine, but a tank sure goes by fast. My fuel injected Raptor goes around three to three and a half hours before the fuel light comes on. Now that's estimates on each one, I don't have meters on them and never really timed them out..... but a tank seems to go a whole lot further on the 700.
