eprada87 Posted June 30, 2008 Report Share Posted June 30, 2008 i just got a 1987 banshee(j arm of course) and it has a play in the steering stem. it feels like i can pull it up and down about an inch. when i drive it expecially at high speeds, i feel vibration from the whole bike itself. the chain was loose and the axel so i tighten it up and it got a little better but still looks like the rear wheel is a little wobbling at high speeds. i also was thinking maybe the ball joints are a little messed up in the frontend that maybe causing the vibration too cuz the front right wheel wobbles a bit. i hear you cant change the balljoints on the j arms also..? any solution i can try to diagnose these problems? also is there a aftermarket place that sells j arms? ive been trying to find them but no hope. would really appreciate all the help i can get much. thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Washburn Posted July 9, 2008 Report Share Posted July 9, 2008 yeah you better check that man. Take the tires off and look for damage to the hubs a arms then do the back axle. Also pump your tires to around 20-30 psi and see if you have a leak. I can understand the handelbars shaking loose out of your hands and in that case I would recomend a new antivibe stem and a GPR steering stabilizer but the whole bike shaking is not good.
