gussy78
I just got a new to me shee. It's worked over and is extremely fast. I was wondering if a longer A-arm would help keep the front end down. Thanks. Edited June 30, 2008 by gussy78

Bansh-eman
a +2+1 a arm means that they are +2 in wider and +1 in forward. They are simply for more stability from rolling. To keep the front end down you need to go longer out the back of the bike with a swinger.
gussy78
Thank you. I more or less needed some clarification on the different parts. Most of my riding will be on trails so I don't want the swinger to be too long. How long do you guys think.

gussy78
So a swing arm that is 2" longer than stock. Are they sized like the a arms such as +2? Or a actual size for example 14"? How long is the stock swing arm? Thanks again for your guys input.
Bansh-eman
a swinger that is +4 is four inches longer out the rear making the pivot point of the bike 4 inch farther back. The mounts and everything remain the same for the shock and what not. for a arms a +2+1 means the arms are +2 inches wider (left to right) and +1 in forward (longer wheel base) the swinger is to control the bike frm coning up on wheelies and a arms are to stabilize the bike from rolling over when turning
Michael Jackson
learn how to ride and how to shift your weight around, dont get a longer swinger for riding trrails. whats done to the bike anyway? if an inexperienced rider hops on a 400ex, the thing is gona wheelie everywhere too, untill you learn how to ride, where to sit, ect, you can sit on the back of the seat on a stock banshee, and it will wheelie everywhere if u have no control Edited June 30, 2008 by Michael Jackson

gussy78
Sorry I should have added it when I signed up. Hopefully it posts with my post. I ride about half trails and the other have is climbing steep hills with my buddy on his grizzly. His quad is pretty good at them hills. He walks up em. I'll just have to change my style. I just think that the stock wheel base with the power it has is a touchy situation. Enlighten me. I'm new to this banshee!
