awaitedshee
my compression is only about 95 psi per cylinder and i dont even have a hour worth of run time on this damn thing only runnin was testing to get it runnin right and it still isnt the left side keeps dumpin feul like crazy. and i can touc the left pipe after riding and its not hot at all but main concern is why is my compression not shit? could it be acually that low from the rings not bein seated? my mods are everything in my sig
sinisterboo
Try a different gauge before you get pissed at the motor. Then if it reads low too, set it on fire!!
Snopczynski
who put it together?

278
Maybe im wrong so correct me if im wrong guys, but i dont think he should have to run 340 mains, of course depending on his elevation, but that seems a little high

awaitedshee
i put it together i have put plenty of engines together and kevin did set me up with the jeting setup and to get the reading i kick it over about 30 times with the throttle held wide open it really pisses me off i hope i dont have to tear it all down again but why else would it be so low im lost
dajogejr
Did you leak down test the motor? Did you check squish? Did you try another compression tester??

Did you check squish? Did you put the correct thickness base gasket and head gaskets in the motor? My cousin has a ridiculous problem with not doing all this stuff, and he thinks he is a engine rebuild extroirdinaire. Come to find out we spent a whole weekend trying to tune a bike with .060" squish and 155 psi compression because he put in the wrong thickness base gaskets. sredish
Did you run the motor first and check the compression warm? This was my first question.

Snopczynski
no i checked it cold and kevin from hjr set me up with all the gaskets You always check it warm, and you always check squish, especially when rechambering or changing a head. okbeast
I have never noticed a different in compression from checking a motor cold to warm. Dono where everyone gets that from but everyone says it.
