05.Banshee.SE
Here's some mods I want to do soon: 1. K&N - What would you reccommend for an '05 stock 'Shee? 2. T5s vs. T6s? 3. Boost bottle? (I've heard both sides: do it, it's cheap enough...and don't waste your money.) I would also like to do V-Force 3 Reeds (whole assembly, not just replacement reeds.) ------ After that....what order should I do them in? I'd like to hold off on exhaust, and do intake first because of the price. What other simple [bolt on type] things am I missing? (I want to wait for porting, etc. a few months) Bike will be for dirt road/sand/sand dune/street use. Will NOT see water.
okbeast
Seeing no water I'd go for k&n pods. T-5's if you want porting down the road (or more top-end pull) Adjustable timing plate No boost bottle Coolhead or milled head.
05.Banshee.SE
Will removing the pressurized stock airbox cause me to lose some low end drivability? I'm going to port eventually...I'm just trying to stay out of motor work for now, since the bike is so new. I'm going to find a local shop that has a good reputation to do it, but I'm still kinda nervous about it. I'll nix the boost bottle, and look into the adj. timing plate. Will the cool/milled head change my required octane fuel?
okbeast
Pods wont affect low-end, never heard of that affecting it. If you keep your compression around 150 you can run pump gas.
05.Banshee.SE
I'll look into all that stuff. Thanks a lot man.
okbeast
Anytime, if you have questions on any of that the search should have quite a bit of info, just do a little diggin.
jamebo
I recommend a Nosshead. They work great, use the existing studs, and install pretty quickly. You should be fine with the 21cc domes to run premium unleaded. You'll notice a difference in power right away.
05.Banshee.SE
Just ordered: TORS Removal Kit. K&N Pods w/ Outerwears. Upcoming: Reeds and Reed Cage (V-Force 3) [should I get a spacer also?] Pipes (Toomey T5s)

jbooker82
agreed Yep. Reeds dont actually increase power much. They do make it more responsive though.
magz
Yep. Reeds dont actually increase power much. They do make it more responsive though. you should have baught larger jets since your getting pods. my set up pods, adjustible timing plate, v-force 3, t-6's, running stock pilot(25) and 320 mains, bike runs good at all levels of throttle
sinisterboo
I can vouch for Magz bike running good..... LOL
05.Banshee.SE
I'm not expecting the pods and TORS kit until next week sometime. I'll order the jets here soon (today/tomorrow), have everything next week and install it all.
sredish
forget the boost bottle. forget the intake and reeds until you get some pipes. i'd get pipes first and foremost... best bang for the buck by far and the reeds aren't going to do squat with the stock exhaust. If you want cheap filters, go to Rocky Mountain and order the cheap K&N pods for like $40 a pop and clamp them on. i would say you should do this, in this order: pipes noss head (smaller cc domes) intake reeds timing plate (can add at anytime really) you'd be a lot happier
