blanco25
I was wondering what size haulers i should get for hillshooting at dumont. I have aggressive dune port from herr juggs, noss cool head w/18cc domes, advanced timing +4, lightened flywheel,35mm air strykers, cpi inframe pipes, heavy duty clutch, marvin shaws all the way around, k&n pods, also run race fuel vp 110. Getting ready to put in 17cc domes and add a little more timing. Right now i have itp sandstar fronts on douglas and 20x10x8 8 paddle extremes on douglas blues. I was wondering if there was another size i should be running for hill shooting? also what gearing should i been running?Kev said i should be around 70s in horsepower. he said it was frans personal port job from his bike. Its real fast now but you know needs to be little faster.
Bansh-eman
you might be able to go to a 10 paddle but those should be pretty good that you have now. I would just try those out first. I run a 21x12x8 10 paddle on my 421 cub.
rubberneck
How long is your swing arm? I have 22/11/8 9 paddle ultralites, and only a +2 arm. They hook really well, probably a little too well. Cant keep the front end down on launch, even if on top of the bars. But for the riding i do, i like them. Probably with a longer arm they would be perfect for dragging on my bike. I got them from DaveI and i believe he said he used them with a +4 arm.

The size of your tires will effect your gearing too so keep that in mind
Wildcardracing
I'm not sure of the sand there, but here in UT the best setup I've found for a stock stroke shee is 22x11x8 8pdl ultralites +4 swinger and 14/39 to 14/40 gearing. You could go to a 9pdl if the sand is real light. I'm currently running 10pdls on mine and it slows me down a little, 10pdls are just a bit much on a stock stroke/cylinder shee. My mods are in my sig, I can get away with my +2 swinger ok but really need a +4. Hope that helps

C&B
I run 21-12-8 9 paddle when I go to Dumont. My cub pulls 15-43 really hard with this gear and tire set up, but blows them off the rims on the launch. It makes up on the hill. Ive ran 22s with 10 paddles before with my other motor (72 horse) and launched like a mother, so that is similar to were u r at. Personally Id go with the 9s. KEVSWS6
Move the timing to +6 Did you go down a pilot size on the carbs?
Leadfoot350
From what I have experieced with tires is to buy the ones with the largest roll out. I have seen 22" tires come from 69" roll out to 73" roll out. Thats way too much difference. I bought the 73" roll out ones and they are better for drag racing. I think the biggest they make now for the 22's are 72" roll out. So if you are going to go with a +6 arm I would go with 72" roll out 22-11-8 with 9 paddles extreme super lights. As far as gearing the roll out is going to affect it a lot. Start with stock and see how it pulls the hill
Wildcardracing
On a stock stroke/cyl bike I would stay with the 8 or 9 pdl haulers or 7 to 8 pdl extremes, 9 pdl extremes and 10 pdl haulers are a bit much and will slow a bike with your setup down on the hill unless the sand is real light or the rider is extremely light (120lbs or less, I weigh 145) My 10 pdls work great on flat sand and launch hard, but lug the engine a little on the hill.
