rear rim bolt pattern problem?

Recommended Posts

I have a 1987 banshee with stock rims. i want to either buy new paddle tires or new paddle tires and rims. will newer raptor and banshee tires fit my stock bolt pattern? and it says the tire size is 21 x 10 - 9 will a 21x11x9 tire fit. i dont under the -9 and x9 difference?

Yes, the newer Banshee/Raptor wheels will fit. And the "9" is the same at the end of the size.... it denotes a 9" diameter wheel...

I dont think the rear rims will fit. Didnt the first couple years (1987-1990 or so) of the banshee use a 4X156 bolt pattern? Then they changed to the more common 4X115 bolt pattern. The Raptor 350 & 660 (700 I think), YFZ450, Warrior, 1991 and on Banshee all use the same rear bolt pattern.

I would get a set of banshee hubs that are 4x115 then you can ethire switch hubs to run the raptor tires, or get new wheels so your not switching hubs and you would have a more common bolt pattern.

from what I know, 1989 was the ONLY year that had the 156 bolt pattern front and rear. I bet you a dollar.....

I will take that bet. I just did a seach for wheels on RMATV. 89 and 90 had the 156 bolt pattern. That is wierd started out normal for 2 years then switched for 2 years then back to normal.

So the rear's should fit.

Looks like I owe you a roll of pennies! LOL, but from what I was told, it was something to do with BAJA, and a production class. They like it when they only have to carry one spare tire. I have nothing to back that up, just repeating what I heard.

Sounds logical to me. Banshee with front tires all the way around.
