01CandyBlue
I can pull start it. But how do I kick it and get it to start? It is a stock cylinder bike with a pvl ignition. I am learning about purging but I dont think I can start on regular gas because of the alky mixture. So what am I doing wrong to start this thing? Do use starter fluid or something??? badassbanshee479
when the temps are cooler ya have to use alittle starter fluid. I always leave alittle purge gas in the bowls, bike seems to start alot easier on gas, then turn the petcock on and let the alky flow. Once ya get the bike fired up for the first time in the morning you should not have a problem starting it with the kicker and no starter fluid the rest of the day. If you cant I would say you have some jetting issues. what are you running for a main and dump?? how about the pilot?? what needles?
dajogejr
He's got a PVL, and they can be a pain to start. Kick it multiple times real fast, over and over. Those ignitions are hard to start sometimes. On my bike...when it's dead cold, it starts just as easy on gas as it does methanol. However, I have Lectrons...that could be part of it...dunno.
