dajogejr
If you put a sock over his air filter and flatten a tire, you have a chance.. 700s are no joke whatsoever. Porting...you can not bolt enough parts on to beat him, unless Nitrous is one of them.
hercalmighty
It depends on the distance. I raced a 700 with my piped shee. In a 100 yard race on grass he had me by about half a bike. In a 200 yard race on the street he had me til I hit 4th gear. I passed him just as he hit 5th. By the time I hit 6th I had about 3 bikes on him and still pulling away but I ran out of room to see how bad I could have beat him.
dajogejr
A piped only shee should lose to a 700 Raptor by more than a bike in 300 foot. You either ride very well and the 700 guy doesn't, there is a huge weight difference, or the Raptor isn't setup and your bike is... I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying something else isn't right....
hercalmighty
I have a 2003 with T6, Vforce 2, drilled out air box with a twin air filter. Thats it. It still has stock suspension. I'm running 320 mains in it. He was topped out when I passed him in the long race and I just shifted into 6th when I had 3 bikes on him. The only reason he beat me in the short race was because I dont have traction in the grass. I did race for a long time. I think in 60 races I lost the hole shot about 5 times. I think there might have been about a 20 pound difference between us. I weigh about 190.
dajogejr
Good kill story!!! Thost 4 pokes are hard as all hell to get out of the whole...for sure. They just hug the ground and hook.
hercalmighty
No crap man. I had a yzf426 and that was a monster to drop out of the hole. My brother had a 400ex with a pipe and open airbox and that thing was great out of the hole. 4 pokes will kill a 2stroke at the start. gregrob
I don't have any trouble with the piped ones on my duner. Guess I haven't raced one that was hopped up with cams, high comp piston, big bore, etc. I've seen them run with hotcams, hi comp piston, and tuning and they are no joke!!! My bike wasn't ready to run then as a 4mil but I would have liked to line up with the guy. Would have had my work cut out for me on a stock swingarm! lol
theshee
That is way to broad of a question. Rider skill, weight and other things will come into play. It took a ported banshee to beat my 700 last year, and it just had a hotcam stage II cam, PCII, an intake and barkers. With those mods it ran dead even with RIPPENS FAST play ported 4 mil, (Jameys bike is not set up to race though, more of a hillshooter). Now with the BIG megacycle cam, new piston, TB bore, port work and bigger valves on my 700 it is gonna take a stout shee to beat it... Like these guys are saying, the 700s are no joke. 2strokespirit
I have a 2006 banshee with just K&N filter pro circuits, and v force 3s. I don't want to sound like I am blowing my own whistle but I can ride, on a hard surface I have beat 700 raptors that is piped, but its very close, I weigh about 220lbs and that guy is a good rider too, we raced e few times on a 1/4mile to check top speed as well, my gearing was 14 - 39 with 20s. The banshee was faster as well...

Banshee~
I have sst pipes, no airbox with k&n clamp on filters, vforce reeds, and a 15 tooth front sprocket and i barley beat a bone stock raptor
jamebo
I have a completely stock Raptor. They are pretty quick out of the box. I've never raced a Banshee with it, so I have no Idea how it would compare. The two differ so much it's hard to tell.
