how to ride

Recommended Posts

i`m a newb to the two stroke scene. i have always heard good of banshee`s and i am thinking of getting one. i just wanted to know about how would i need to ride one. i`ve always heard that you have to keep them in the powerband or you will burn the top end up and that you have to stop every half hour or so and let them cool, even though they are water cooled. i do mostly trail riding but have sandpits around the house. any info can help. thanks

Nah if they are jetted righ you dont have to keep it wound up, and as far as stopping every half hour bullshit too, unless you have a drag bike. Again if its jetted right your golden, welcome to the addiction. they really arent that different other then the narrow powerband and going from a 4 poke it feels like your over revving it, but ride one for a while and go to a 4 poke and youll be like wheres the rest of the revvs?

Basically as long as the bike is done right your fine to ride for hours.

Yeah 2 strokes like to be run hard i wouldn't let it sit there and idle for a long time either. Drag bikes are different but from the sound of it that's a totally different ballgame for you so we'll just stick to the basics for now....lol

your best bet for cheap used parts would be this site right here, classified section

also try everything2stroke, its dominated by banshees, tons of parts for sale and cool info there too,

between those 2 places, you should be able to find anything u need, parts wise or info wise

If your gonna build a banshee from the ground up your gonna spend more money than what you would just buying one already built. You'll save the heartache and shipping etc. That's just my opinion.

what about rebuilding one. i was thinking of trying to find one with a blown top end and taking it down to bare frame and replacing all that needs to be replaced or suped up. what about that idea

that would be a better way to do it IMO

If you want a Shee, go for it. You have to learn sometime. My wife has never ridden a 2 stroke until I put her on my Shee Monday. She loved it, it fit her well ( she's over 6 ft. tall ) and she liked the power. Hated the kick start part but liked it otherwise.
