2001 660 R Raptor?

Recommended Posts

The 01 tranny will eventually blow.Do not invest in any 660 raptor,i have even seen many of the upgraded and post 01' trannies disintegrate. Its a shitty design, you can't polish a turd.

They should have designed the engine around a YZ gearbox, but unfortunately, the Raptor engine started life out as a streetbike motor,Then they needed to make room for reverse.

The Yz style gearbox is still the best in the industry, they are rock solid.

Theres a reason the new 700 is totally different than its predacessor.660 = nightmare

660 raptors are just a joke they're not worth putting money into I hope I don't offend anyone here but seriously I have seen piped raptors get beat by a 400ex and that's not saying much you'd be better off not buying one

well i went and picked up this bike yesterday. Great little bike, came with a set of paddles. I dont plan on modding to much, just pipe and filter. It is for the GF.

So how is your girlfriend liking the Raptor? Looks like a really nice bike and that was a good price, too. My wife hasn't even ridden mine yet, she has a Wolverine 350. She's still kind of new at riding and doesn't like the clutch's too well on my bikes.

She likes it alot. We will find out this sunday. We are going to go really ride, not just put around on some open fields.

The problem is when people put pipe's on they dont know that they need to rejet them.

I have seen quite a few 660's run hard but it take's a little cash to make them move.

I will see what the one i have will do when it is done, it will be a 762cc motor in a light weight frame.
