What would you do?

Recommended Posts

I'm rejetting my bike for the new pipes and other mods. The previous owner put a dynojet jet kit in it. He also gave me the stock needles when I bought the bike. The Dynojet needles are longer and have more clip positions than the stock needles do. I got on dynojet's website and found diretions on how to use the jet kit. But it says you have to use their main jets. I'm thinking about just putting the stock needles back in it and going with regular ole main jets. What would you do?

I called Dynojet and talked to their tech. They said I can use regular dealership jets with their needles and he told me where I need to put the clip on the needle. So I'm giving that a shot for now. I can't believe people pay $60-$90 for jet kits. The only thing I see different is new needles.

i would run stock as more people are familiar with them and can help you more. as for jet kits, they are for misinformed retards. waste of money for sure.

+1

yeah, i've never been a fan of jet kits. put one in my yamaha r1 and boy did it make it run like shit. fucked with all the different clip positions and jets.....still never right. put stock jetting back in and much better. don't know how they are getting 8 hp out of it, with their jet kit......that's what it showed on the little dyno sheet that came with my kit. and i spent $120 on that pos kit. when i got my yamaha r6 and noticed that it was all burbly in the midrange and lowend, i took carbs out and noticed that one of the previous owners, put a jet kit in. well, out that kit went, and in with the stock jetting. as for JasonsBanshee, i would run stock needles. i've never came accross a time where i needed different needles. the stock ones will work fine with you.
