bansheejoel
well i posted a few weeks ago about this but nothing that anyone said fixed anything. The story is that my chain will be loose then if i turn my tires 1/2 turn the chain will be tight. I put on a different sprocket and it does the same thing. It looks like my sprocket hub is fine to...any ideas? it doesnt look like my axle is bent.
Wildcardracing
How old is the chain, any stuck links that are kinking and binding?? Maybe your front sprocket isn's seated on the splines or your output shaft is bent. Odd problem
gmctruck1976
this is completely off the wall but have you checked your swing arm and its tight correct and a nother dumb awnser is it staying tight or does it losen and tighten so on and so forth or dose it stay tight i

Odd problem  i think the chain is fine. i know the output shaft is straight plus if it was the output shaft it would to it more than every 1/2 turn of the rear wheels....when i spin my rear tires my rear sprocket moves up and down a little bit....im getting pist lol so far ive checked.....output shaft, chain, put on new sprocket, and had the axle off and it looks straight.... dajogejr
If this is a stock rear carrier, check all the mount points and adjustment points. Check the rear carrier bearings.
bansheejoel
If this is a stock rear carrier, check all the mount points and adjustment points. Check the rear carrier bearings. i just put in new carrier bearings. How would i go about checking all the mount points? I took off the rear sprocket to see if it was maybe out of round or something and it looks fine. I also took off the front sprocket and that looks fine to. The chain acts like it is binding up on the sprocket or something when i spin it. The output shaft looks perfect, i put a mark on the front sprocket and spun it a 1/2 turn at a time to see if maybe that was bent, i tryed this 4 times all in different spots and the chain didnt get tight. It has something to do with the rear end or something....i would say maybe the chain is stretched out or something but it did the same thing with my stock length chain.....could maybe the front sprocket do this? Wildcardracing
You said earlier that your rear sprocket moved up and down as you rotated it, that's not right...I think you may have found your problem, figure out what is bent or messed up that is causing it to not roll concentric with your axle. bansheejoel
i fixed that but the fucker still does it.....i worked on it for like 1 1/2 hours tonight...i cant figure it out unless the front sprocket is shot and binding up the chain or something hell i have no idea
Dinner
Mounting holes on the sprocket hub aren't worn into an oval?
ADA///M
If this is a stock rear carrier, check all the mount points and adjustment points. Check the rear carrier bearings. what he said. Something isnt aligned right....either the carrier in the swing arm, the bearings in the carrier, or the swingarm in the frame. Possibly the wrong bearings are in there? I'd doubt that it has anything to do with the sprocket or the chain....unless you have more play on the top of the chain than the bottom....maybe its one tooth off and not even(thats highly unlikely, but you never know)

NitroTate
Did you take a really close look at your Sproket HUB? If you hit something with your sproket at some point in the past hard enough you may have bent it out of round somehow. I imagine that would be pretty hard to do but if you have eliminated most other possibilities you might want to check it...
bansheejoel
well i checked it out again tonight and when i sping the rear tires the sprocket hub moves a tiny bit up and a little bit to the left....im thinking either bent axle or bent hub
Poolman
well i checked it out again tonight and when i sping the rear tires the sprocket hub moves a tiny bit up and a little bit to the left....im thinking either bent axle or bent hub Hello bansheejoel and BansheeHQ members, Is this the problem that you are having Joel ? If so I am obviously having the same problem and I am trying to figure out what is wrong myself. I just made this video a few days ago and am at a loss. The Swingarm is only 15 months old and same with the lone star racing part, i.e. axle, sprocket hub, wheel hubs. I know the video is long guys and I'm sorry for that. Joel if this is the same problem you are having I understand your frustration. Thanks to anyone that can help me and Joel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-riU7mwBvo
