dank91
hey guys, first post, im not new to engines and bikes but new to the banshee, i own my own auto shop and a street bike and ive had a few dirt bikes so i somewhat know what im doing, but lets start with i traded my 07 suziki 250 for a 98 banshee, she just came from the shop getting exhaust, aftermarket cool down head, and im not sure what else, but she was running great, big step from the 250, well i had it in the mud so i decided to clean it up, i sprayed it down with the hose and then drove it around the shop and she was running perfect, i pulled the seat and saw my k&n was sittin in a puddle, so i shut it down, let the filter dry out and when i fired it back up its bogging when you give it gas, it fires up first kick, and revs just a few hundred rpms then it just bogs ive changed the plugs, i drained the bowls on the carbs, i let it sit for 2 days, its still bogging, i sprayed wd40 on the coil and wires to try to push the water out but its still bogging out, where do i go from here, the only thing i did was spray it with the hose so it had to of sucked water, i was told that their might be a drain plug on the engine somewhere, but its not like i went snorkling with the thing, it idles perfect like nothing is wrong, any help? Our bikes have a feature that only lets them rev so high with the parking brake on. They idle fine but when you give them gas they just bog. You might've got water in something to do with that and it's thinking that the parking brake is on when it's not.
fastquad02blaster
You might need to pull your carbs, take them completely apart and clean them up really well. I went through a creek that was deeper than I thought and the same thing happened sortof to me. Try that and go from there.
