Snopczynski
im riding on a paved straightaway .....im not trying to spend alot right now just the best bang for my buck ..i have dg pipes all the way back .... what would you change first that would make the most difference .. i was thinking v3 sprockets and new chain .....i dont want to get it ported unitll i get my engine rebuilt with a stroker .....what carbs would you reccomend for aggressive trail and neighborly racing? thanks ..i need to be able to get my coffidence up lol . sry about the spelling .-dan ditch the boost bottle (use the stock one), ditch the reed spacers. Get an adj. timing plate and bump the timing to +4. Get a set of carbon tech mid tension reeds for the stock cages. Go to a 14t front sprocket, and switch out the pipes to something like pro circuits or fatty's. Carbs I would run a 28mm mikuni tm or a pwk 28mm. You could benefit from like a 43 or 44 tooth rear sprocket also. More compression would help a ton.

rubberneck
Gearing definitely low. But something that hasn't been mentioned yet. Jetting. Did you rejet the bike when the pipes were installed? What air filter are you running? Do you still have the snorkel and lid on the air box? Is the bike in tune? carbs synched? What is your compression? Before you go spending money, lets establish what you have. DG pipes dont get a lot of press around here, but i would think if that bike is tuned properly with everything you have (except gearing) you should be spanking those bikes. I would def ditch the boost bottle because they can crack the boots and cause air leaks. Get a compression test and tell us what it is. Check the synch on the carbs and check your jetting. Get everything right and then start modding. Just my .
AJC
i got a few videos of me racing 2 predators. one an 05' and the other an 03' the first one i got a shitty start, so it came close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1DQCNWiIFs a rematch.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtg6IgS-LJI and this is the 03' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJHkLXTRAsg both predators had pipes, jetted carbs and k&n filters mine had pipes, jetted carbs, K&N filter and stock pistons from the factory since 2003, i had very low compression ( did the rebuild over the winter ) your bike should of bet the ex and the Z no trouble. jharader
lol I raced a 440ex and i won by only a tire length!!! a piped yfz450 kept pulling a tire on me!!! i was pissed, been riding 20 years now and i gotta say, its time to scrap the stock engine design, its deffinately not a real contender with just pipes, need to port it, change the timing, gear it dif, put some pods on it, diff reeds and a head before you should waste your time racing people. ditch the spacers and the bootle, sale them on ebay to the next fool. EastCoast Banshee
15/40 with 18s is the way to go. If you have a little more power 16/40 and you'll give them real hell.

bink98xcab
well man there been alot of post so i ddnt read them all , but, i raced a 450r a couple months ago on cement, 18"rear fast trekkers 16/40 sprockets fmf pipes, and waxed his A$$ repeatedly, so i know somthing is up , more than just your low gearing, because i was only getting to like 4th when the race was over. unles you are goin for overall top end. and his bud had a 400ex and my buddy's blaster eat him up so , we all new that we were all bout were we shoulda been in the standings, but a banshee gettin beat by 400's is insane man
