peterlocal22
just like the title says. i have a 2004 banshee with +3+1 a arms. just bought a new -2 swingarm and wanted to know if my stock axle is ok to use with this set up or if i should get an extended axle. i mostly ride trails, and some times hit the track. i love hitting the jumps and really beating the shee thanks in advance
IrideA250R
get an axle, it will closer match the width of your front end.
fastashell
thanks for the reply, is that what i should be looking to do, have the front end width match the back end width? thanks

BansheeKid15
Wouldnt an extended axel make the bike harder to whip around in the turns?
bonbon
Wouldnt an extended axel make the bike harder to whip around in the turns? Probably, but when you get on it in a powerslide in a turn your inside wheel is going to want to come up if your rear is that much narrower than the front end. Michael Jackson
you can get away with flippin the stock rear rims on a +2 front end, it lines up almost perfect actually, but a +3 id definitly go for the axle, zachs sits real nice with +3 and the gforce, other friend of mine has gforce too, no problems Edited April 22, 2008 by Michael Jackson
peterlocal22
ok sounds good. so it sounds like you want to get your front end and rear end at the same width? is this correct?
Hollister_Hitman
The wider the better! You are really going to want to get an extended axle with the -2 swingarm. It will make the bike more stable. The -2 swingarm makes the bike less stable at high speeds and the wider axle will help that out. Also a wider axle will help the bike corner by not letting the back tires lift up in the turn. I also noticed that the bike seems to track better in the corners with a wider axle (you won't spin out as much). The back end seems to follow or track the front end rather then try to spin around it (spin out). Have you rode your -2 swingarm yet? Your gonna love it! I also recommend getting 18" tires in the back and 20" in the front with some good skid plates. I use that combo on the trails cause there aren't a lot of rocks here
locogato11283
you can, but you dont necessarily need it. how much wider is the front than the back? do you have flipped rims on the rear? that can add some width without spending any money.
