jamebo
My wife quit about three years ago, she had a time with it at first but she ended up quitting all together. I remember that she cut back some as you described, just one every now and then. Then, after a few weeks went cold turkey. I don't smoke, but have a bad habit of dipping. I need to quit copenhagen, been doing it so long now that it'll be hard for me to quit.
DallasGDub
I was smoking 2 packs in a 24 hour period. Every morning on my way to work I would buy 2 packs. I stopped cold turkey. My son got a bad cough from second hand smoke, so it made me stop that second. The first few days was ok, I just filled the time with something stress free like walking around outside or playing vid games. Then I got sick. It was weird. I stopped smoking and got a bad ass cough. I guess my body was clearing out my lungs. After a week or so, the habit was gone, but I craved it really bad. I would sneak in a puff or two and put the cig out. It started to taste like ass, and then stopped within a few days. I am smoke free for 4 years. 1ugly88
i quit cold turkey about 2 months ago. the first week sucked, then i was sick as a dog the second week, now it's just the mental cravings that bother me. i usually try to do something to take my mind off of it. 2001Stroker
Yea, I quit cold turkey about 8 years ago, because my girlfriend didn't like me smoking. When I quit, I never picked up a cigarette. That sucked. Then, about a year later, I found out my old lady was screwing one of my now ex-friends. The only thing that would take away the stress of it was cigarettes. Been smoking ever since. Now, I have a little one, so I should probably think about quitting smoking again. Even though I NEVER smoke anywhere around him, it would still be a good idea. Glad you posted this. Maybe I'll start quitting today. Thanks for the inspiration. Hilarious
i've been quit for 9 years now. Cold turkey. One of the best things you can do is find yourself a little hobby. something to help take your mind off of smoking. One of the things I did was teach myself to play guitar and video games. read a book, work on your banshee, jerk your gerk. Anything to take your mind off of craving the nicotine. lonestar
You can do it. Its been 90 days for me. It cost me at todays priceses $ 300.00 a month to smoke. $10.00 a day plus. Hang in their. I know it's hard. Just think with the money you save what you can do to your bike. That will help you stop.
Twistedtrik
Damn, now I need a cigarette. I actually quit for a yr. just last yr. and would smoke every so often ( especially when I was drinking ) My job stressed me the fuck out for a few weeks and I started again. I enjoy smoking, I am going to die anyways so i pretty much do what I want. I have alot of respect for those that quit, but I won't, not for awhile. Good luck with your quitting. Good luck with your quitting. i liked smoking. i only quit because i was spending close to 20 bucks a day on em. i realized the only way to finish any of my projects was to quit and put the money to better use. hercalmighty
I quit two years ago for my son. I watched my parents smoke all of the time around me growing up. It killed me and when they quit I started( I think there is something to that second hand smoke sh*t). When my wife got pregnant I decided to quit. I went with the patch and it worked great. I think the biggest thing was getting out of the habit of smoking when I did certain things like drinking and working out in the garage. IrideA250R
good for you. I think people look totally ridiculous when they smoke, and the fact that you're paying a corporation to take poisonous weeds, roll them up in a piece of paper, and them light them on fire laughable. I was unfortunate enough growing up and watched 2 close family members die of complications from smoking. 1 from emphysema, one from lung cancer. It had such a negative impact on me I vowed to never touch one, and I never have.
