Do I have to rejet? mx port cool head.. 150 psi + timing .20 over U will need 795 series pistons, special cut domes, cyl's re-ported to match 4mill (I have heard depending on the type and amount of port work already done on a non 4mil, this may be difficult since its already ported), new crank ~$500, pistons $150, domes ~100, etc...As far as jetting you should not have to do much...maybe a little richer, but probably not much difference from where you are now if your jetted right. wacko2000
What crank should I get? etc?
locogato11283
What crank should I get?etc? a builder will be able to tell you everything you need to know. your cylinders will have to be reported so i would start thinking about who you want to do the work. there are a lot of guys out there who can do it but a lot are probably busy right now with the PS sand drags coming up. youre lookin at waiting a while right now for stuff. i would consider waiting until your off season before doing this stuff. jbooker82
#1 Hot Rods 4mill Long Rod Crank #2 Wiseco 795 series pistons (have to have them becuase of the 5mm longer conecting rod) #3 A set of Noss Machine Stroker domes (the piston will travel down 2mm farther and 2 mm up out of the jug so you need a set of stroker domes. This allows you to run no spacer plate.) #4 Talk to your builder and see what he says about your current port work to see how it will run or if he can modd a few things to get it to work. Most of the time when you port your cylinders for stock stroke they cannot be ported for the 4mm stroker. The port durations are to large bcause the opean the ports down 2mm to the NEW Bottom Dead Center. And if they already raised them when it was stock stroke then the opeanings would be huge. Since you have an MX port you might be ok. But talk to Jim he ported your current cylinders right? josh

wacko2000
Oh one more thing you need. The set of PWK 33's that you sold. HAHA thats funny...But my stockers are dialed in soo perfect that im very happy with that, just bored and want to step it up a bit.. Im buying a set of stock jugs from theshee, and my plan is just to send them out to get ported for the 4mm, so that i dont have any down time.. I guess it will be easier to port virgin cylinders.. Thanks for all the replies, anything else? Booker---passion racing did my motor..
wesw
everyone is so scared of a spacer plate, why its basically i really thick gasket. you put plenty of ultra gray on both sides of the plate it seals just as good or better than reg gaskets. dont understand it. wacko2000
Well correct me if Im wrong, I have a cool head so I wont need a spacer plate, just some new cut domes for the 4mm... Well rather than reporting my cylinders that Im happy with I bought some stockers from theshee and goin to start fresh.. I will send the cylinders out first, have them ported for a 4mm and then go from there...Have some nice pc done on them... Things I need to buy? 1-795 piston kit 2- hot rods 4mm crank 3- o-ring kit for cool head 4- cut domes for 4mm 5-clutch gasket what else? If anyone can find the link that bigred did about splitting the cases..hook me up please..
Bansh-eman
the spacer isnt only to take up the extra stroke but to raise the port timings as well. how ever this is the least preferred method in attempting to fix the port timings. having the motor ported for the correct stroke will insure thatyou are able to deliver as much power as possible. wesw
i ran a plate with a cool head just didnt run recessed domes. talk to who ever you get it ported by and go with what they suggest if they can even use them jugs anymore.
rubberneck
That motor isn't very old at all, I remember your posts when you got it. I wonder if you wouldn't be money ahead to just sell that motor and start over with a stocker? I would imagine a freshly built motor ported by passion would be worth a decent amount of change, and you could probably pick up a stocker for a pretty fair price if you shop it. I dont know just an idea.
PhantomMs1
I've had a few questions about the stroker crank also. (I hope you don't mind Wako) Vitos has a 4mm stroker crank that does not have long rods on it... what is the benifit to having long rods? Without the longrods you can use the stock pistons correct? so why not go that way? 4mm stroker spacer plate and thats it? sorry for the questions but I thought his might be good info to get out there. thanks
