RIPRuck
DMC 916's are a nice trail pipe and hit sooner in the rpm's. Love em!!
JasonsBanshee
I know CPIs are "drag pipes" but I took mine in the woods on trails and absolutlely loved them. Then when you hit a wide open field it's on! On top of that I really love the FAT look of the pipes. Here's a shot from the driver's seat. Willie the wimp
Thanks for all the help everyone....I have also been looking at some of the manufacturers sites looking at the pipes that have been mentioned....most of the sites seem much the same as far as boasting gains over stock and saying they are the best pipes on the market. Bansheeb0y5505
Listen to your dealership. On my dad's banshee, we are running FMF Fatty's and PowercoreII silencers. Heres the story. My dad didn't do the mods. The guy he bought from had a decent amount of money. He bought the banshee brand new, and was getting bored with the power after the first ride. Well, he dumps it off at yamaha, with a hunk of cash, and said make it fast. The guy there is a banshee expert, and knows exactly how they work. Well, they selected the FMF pipes, and milled the head. Then they put a boost bottle on it. After that, they stuck her on the dyno, tuned it, and gave it back. It was dyno'd at 52hp Thats a lot for basic mods. Well, the pull insanely as soon as you hit mid range, and the top end is excellent. His employee has t5's, and I HATE them. They seem more mid-range and less top the the fatty's. They also don't sound as smooth or nice as the FMF. Ive seen people say fatty's are more low-mid, but i don't believe so. They have great mid-top. Just IMHO, the t5's suck, and I like the fatty's. The only other pipes I would buy are the t-6's.
Snopczynski
The fact you just told us the banshee guru put a boost bottle on it makes me think he is a fucking idiot.

dajogejr
The fact you just told us the banshee guru put a boost bottle on it makes me think he is a fucking idiot. First off he put a boost bottle on it, second he put FMF pipes and milled the head and gave you a dyno sheet with 52HP. Find a new dealer.... Bansheeb0y5505
The fact you just told us the banshee guru put a boost bottle on it makes me think he is a fucking idiot. Well, while that may be true, i have to say this. Out of every banshee ive ever seen, ive never seen one run as smooth as his. They tuned it SPOT ON. Its faster than his employee's, which has the t5's, single carb, milled head, and aftermarket filter. My basic point is the FMF's have a really strong mid-top pull, and add excellent power. Snopczynski
My stock ported engine with a single 35mm pwk carb, 20cc domes, carbon tech reeds and a dynoport 2 into 1 pipe made 56 hp peak at 9k rpm. Which fmf pipes? They make 5 different pipes for a banshee. Which boost bottle was it, the graydon proline or white brothers? That $30 for a boost bottle should have went into lightening the flywheel or putting on a timing advance plate instead. Dinner
First off he put a boost bottle on it, second he put FMF pipes and milled the head and gave you a dyno sheet with 52HP. Find a new dealer.... Agreed... 52 ponies out of FMF Pipes, Milled Head, and boost bottle..and that's it? You think they would want to at least put an air filter and reeds on it so it can breath better and get more of that fuel/air mixture once jetted correctly into the cylinders...but what the hell do I know :ermm: Next time you are at the dealer, ask this "expert" if he can port your cylinders  Sorry for all of us for being asses, but 52 ponies out of FMF Pipes and Milled stock head? Sorry, but no. Stock HP depending on the engine is around lets say 36-38 give or take. The milled head would bump up compression and low end pull, adds a couple ponies I think. Pipes would probably add another, what 4hp maybe? dajogejr and Snopczynski would have a better idea of the HP gains from a Stock Milled Head and FMF Pipes...but still. You would be looking at like 45hp with Milled head and Pipes...maybe not even 45HP. The Boost bottle wouldn't do anything for HP gains, thats why I left that out. Sounds to me like you and your dad should spend/upgrade your shee's yourself, cause clearly the dealership is just taking your money and giving you false Dyno sheets.... It was probably ran on a chassis dynojet. Those things can be in-accurate up to 20%, so around 43-46 hp sounds right for an actual number. Bansheeb0y5505
MY DAD DIDNT SPEND THE MONEY! The guy before him sent it to yamaha, with the money. We also don't know what's done completely to the engine. The guy didnt really tell us much. We KNOW they are FMF Fatty pipes and the heads milled. Its a white brothers boost bottle. We havent had the case's off yet but think it might have a shaved flywheel and timing plate, we arent sure. It revs much quicker than some of the other banshee's ive rode, and vibrates more. We also think they put boysen reed petals in. They are white petals, anyone know what they are? So, if my suspicions are true: FMF Fatty pipes PowercoreII silencers milled head shaved flywheel boysen reeds timing plate Plus, not to mention it's tuned SPOT ON, I don't see why 52hp is that far of a reach. Whatever the case, I love FMF pipes except for the gnarly's. Heres my EX and dads banshee. My banshee is undergoing a complete rebuild, because we bought it as a project. Willie the wimp
Anyone ever hear of PPW? I just got back from the dealership, I was asking what pipes they could get in. When I mentioned CPI's he asked why I would want them then said he is now dealing with the people that make all those pipes. He showed me a set of inframe big bore pipes that had no company name on them but there was a tag hanging off them that said the supplier was PPW. Anyone know what these pipes might be?
