Stainless bolt kits

Ok guys, sorry, I know this has been covered because i remember reading about it. For some reason the search feature is giving me heck. There were 2 different brands of bolt kits and i remember some bad press on one of them. Which kit is the best one to get? Where did you get it? I have seen some on flea bay, and and cascade has the alloy boltz kit i believe. thanks

EDIT: Ok on flea bay, they have a kit by the fastnerguy and then alloyboltz. There are several different sets ranging from 100 bucks to almost 300. I am kind of assuming you get what you pay for. What do you think? Also what is different about the alloyboltz kit on flea bay and the one cascade sells?

Fastnerguy is the one you want. I bought three kits from him, two for banshees, one for a YFZ.

If you are expecting show quality polish, it's not gonna happen. They are polished nicely...IMO.

banshe-man is a picky bitch, he wasn't impressed with the "show" polish...

Keep in mind, there will be no foot peg bolts, no swingarm bolt, no upper A or J Arm bolt.

Other than that...they're a complete kit.

Thanks dajo, I did notice on the alloybolts ebay store, they have some 12pt stainless bolts for the footpegs and lower motor mounts now. I will pick up the fastnerguy kit and order the peg bolts from alloybolts then. thanks

As far as show polish goes, probably wont matter, a couple of trips to the beach and everything will look like shit anyway. LOL

keep in mind the guy putting these kits together has no practical experience using them on a banshee. i spent a day removing some from ryda 85`s banshee. the stainless ones will not work in some applications. like the shock link.there needs to be a shoulder bolt in some spots and the stainless ones are all thread.some were also fancy 12 point heads that strip easily.be carefull where you use them.

Thanks for the heads up. I remember some negatives from the other threads back when. I only really plan on using them in non critical area. Mostly dress up. I ordered stock bolts that were chromed for the motor. Will use the alloy bolts for dress up everywhere but suspension and motor

You will also notice that you will have tons of extra bolts that you won't use. In my opinion i wouldn't pay for a kit since half of my frame is hacked and lightened. I'm sure you can use a little more for a stock frame but not to sure. I just assume go to Fastenal or a local store and get bolts from them cheaper and where you need the bolts.

I have used both kits... My first alloyboltz kit sucked ass, all of the bolts would strip when they hit the nylon lock washer in the self locking nuts... However my second alloy kit was flawless... not sure what the deal on the first kit was. Used a fasterguy kit on my bros bike and it was good too..

Biggest thing you have to do when you use these kits is use assembly lube on the bolts. If you dont they will strip.

yup, I am a total perfetctionist! so when the guy says show polished I expected just that. So i wasnt too happy to see them not "show" quality by any means, but as far ass them fitting they where fine. I had ALOT of extra bolts, and like said the rear shock bolts have threads that go under the mount. Also use the thread lube like said, it is a must to keep the bolt from galling and gettiing jacked up.

if i had to buy another kit handsdown it would be the fasstnerguys

Just how many extra pieces are you guys getting? I have most of the stock, ok all of the stock stuff taken off. I don't really wanna pay 120 bux to have 1/2 of the bolts left over.

I wouldn't spend the money then, like i said i have all my stock stuff taken off and i wouldn't use but a little bit. Get the small kit like i did like the clutch and stator cover lol everything else i got from a buddy at a fastenal place.

I 100% agree with the 'show quality' you and I were expecting. I have a kit sitting in the bottom drawer of my tool box 'show'ing itself to the inside of its cardboard box. I am sure someday i will use it. :ermm:
