got probs

Recommended Posts

I put some mods on this weekend. I installed vf3 reeds, Coolhead with 19cc domes ( Drained gas and put 110 in it) and I put a timing plate on and set at +4. I went to fire it up and it took several kicks but figured that was do to the gas being drained. Anyway, It finally started and seemed to be smoking alot. It ran real crisp and sounded fine. It warmed up to take the choke off and I let it idle with a few revs here and there. Again, It was crisp and seemed fine. Then while idling it bogged and I hit the gas and it died and now it wont start. All in all it ran for maybe 60 seconds. I puuled both plug wires off and layed the plug on the pipe while I kicked it over and Im not seeing any fire. So, Im back out in the garage scratching my head. Any suggestions on where to start? :banghead:

if you arent getting any spark, I would take the stator cover off and see if the flywheel nut came loose, mine kept coming loose so I finally used blue lock tight on it.

You guessed one problem. The nut was loose. Its firing now but wouldnt start again. I have a tiny bit of coolant leaking between the head and cylinder on one side so I guess I'll pull the head tonight.

Are you talking needle or will the mains need changed? How many sizes do you think? Thanks for the input :notworthy:

Timing plate with advanced ignition go 0-1 size larger on the mains.

With the reeds, move needle clip one position LEANER an 0-2 sizes larger on the pilots.

Also adjust the air screw.
