Misssppelllleddd
I was wondering what type of gear case oil is really good. One of my friends runs a penzoil synthetic 10W30 oil in his. Clymer manual says to use a 10W30 or a 10W40. The Banshee manual says to use Yamalube. What kind is best or if not best really good for hard riding conditions? hercalmighty
I use Golden Spectro 80w Gear Oil. You have to watch what you put in because some oils have chemicals that eat up cluth plates or make them slip like all hell

gregrob
I run DELO 15-40 in mine right now, same stuff I put in my truck. A lot of the street bike guys use diesel engine oil in their expensive sport bikes. Produces really good UOA (Used Oil Analysis) results, and does not contain friction modifiers, which makes it ideal for wet-clutch applications. I'll probably throw some good synthetic 80-90wt gear oil in there when I change it next time.

dajogejr
I use Crisco or Mazzola corn oil. I'm concerned about the environment...so I run my premix at 500:1 as well, as to not pollute. Pistons usually last me a solid 1/2 hour at a time, but hell...I'm saving the rain forests, right??
