Michael Jackson
Spend a little time researching these trucks, and you will see I for 1 am not out of my mind. It is very common for Duramaxs to get 20+ MPG when setup right. I have 36's but also 4.56 gears ( back to stock ratio now ) + 4" straight pipe with no Cat + the programmer. You want as little proof of mileage spend some time on Dieselplace.com. You can learn alot on the 6.0 also. i thought we were talkin about gas engines here....? theres no way an old 5.3 is gettin over 20 mpg... when the new ones can only muster that while runnign on 4 cylinder mode .. .
I went down to the auto show in philadelphia, and all the new interiors are really shitty. The tundra had the nicest interior by far, the rest were just real plasticy and cheap feeling. I was going to buy my wife a new quad cab f250 (with my father in law's discount) and be out the door for a little over 20 grand, but ended up getting a 2003 limited excursion v10 with all the bells and whistles for 20 grand out the door with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty. the new trucks might be real solid and such but the interiors are lacking. If your gonna go with a chevy or gmc, look into getting an HD. Not just for it being a better truck than the standard, but the styling is a little bit nicer. Just something to think about. It's gotta be functional, but you also wanna feel good being in it. Meanv10, with that kenne bell what kind of gas mileage are you getting before and after you put the charger on it? I'm averaging about 10 around town and can probably squeeze 17 out of it on the highway. I'm still learning how to drive it though. It's got so much torque and it rolls so unbelievably that you really never have to be on the throttle, it'll coast up hills basically. In the next couple years I'm gonna be trying to get my shop setup and start doing stereo systems and vehicles again, and wanted to start with the excursion as a platform. I never said over 20 with a 5.3. I said my wifes truck gets 17-18 on 35's with a 5.3. My best is 20.4 highway in my 2500. But usually around 15ish in town. EastCoast Banshee
Iv driven all the new trucks but a tundra and hands down a Titan kicks all their asses hands down. Thats probably why my dad bought one. Dont think im brand loyal by any means i love ford to death so its saying alot. It rides like a dream and pulls like a mother fucker. I shit you not stock titan vs. mustang GT with for exhaust got a little spanking by the titan. Also took it out to the drag strip one day and got a 9.1ET in the 1/8th and they had some pretty worked SRT4s getting like 9.4ETs so if that says anything. Ok ill stop now haha. oh yeah the fit and finish and interior is top notch.
meanv10
I don't doughty the titans are making big numbers there 5.7 is making around 400 ft lbs and 380 hp, that's frickin impressive, they are kind of ugly, but my point is that the mustang he beat could be largely due to the driver. also depends on the type of mustang, and the srt4 are you talken the little neon thats turbo charged? And the ford v10 3v is putting down 470 hp and 380 ftlbs. Edited March 17, 2008 by meanv10
Michael Jackson
yea i dont see a titan smokin a new mustang gt, they rate those titans 0-60 at 7.5 seconds, which is fast as hell for a truck.. but even the new mustang gt will do it under 6 seconds

IrideA250R
i was talkin about the guy below you then, sorry, he said 20-22 mpg in a 5.3 , YEA RIGHT when driven right, it's very possible. When driven on the interstate at 75-80mph or in traffic, no way. Don't be so quick to throw doubt on me when you don't even know or probably even own one.
