docjcwatson
Alright. Definitley Have done some contemplating on this one. I have a 14mil Cheetah being built right now. Going into the bike described in my sig below. The motor builder already has a cut(full override with lock up) tranny 2-5 with a billet second gear set on it. Not a bad tranny right? Well, I am using the bike mostly for asphalt drags. Maybe I might get into the dirt drags later on. I know that the 1/8th is a long haul on these machines. With keeping the dirt drags future in mind, should I keep the 2-5? Or should I just tell him to go ahead and cut first and move neutral? Thanks for the help guys! This is such a noob question! - Doc
badassbanshee479
go with the 1-5, in order to put enough gear on the bike to go 660 ft you are gonna have to launch in 1st. if you wanna run dirt later on, just regear and launch in 2nd. I wished I had a 1-5 when I was running 660 out on the ice this year!
docjcwatson
Right on. That's what I had figured. I can keep the billet 2nd gear set even with the 1-5. So I don't have to purchase one later. Thanks for the input man. - Doc

Then you still have 5th and 6th, although you have to clutch to get to them. And yes you can still keep the billet 2nd.
neely97
I just got my 1-4, m5th & m6th in today. I`m new to the override tranny. It did not come with any instructions and I don`t know were the three springs that came with it go. Anybody have a diagram of this trany so I can get it put in. Any ideas would help greatly. It`s a WCR override, but their email is down and can`t get an answer on the phone! Edited June 27, 2008 by neely97

Hey man, thanks for the info. I`ve never installed an override. That looks to be right, as there are three different lenght springs. Where do you run at? I`m running in Evadale,TX
