74bronco302
just got a brand new 06 banshee took it out and the front suspension came out. none of the bolts were torqued and all fell out. i imagine i probably rode around with at least one shock wedge in the lower a arm. i didnt notice anything till i heard another bolt fly of and hit the frame. how much damaged could have been done. i took it back and they are fixing it. but could there be any hidden damaged. is there anything i should get out of this like a credit or maybe a warranty covering the bike and or front suspension. out of the 4 bolts in the front suspension i only had 1 left and its nut was off. the suspension was jammed in the a arms. what should i do. Sorry man about your problems; I just got mine as well...Brand new out of the crate; I did tell them that Id better see the torque paint on every bolt on it verifying it was ready to ride. Also there is only a 90 day warranty on all two stroke bikes. This will get you fixed up for now. Mine is spitting up oil only because I put in 16:1 ratio oil mix for the first 8 hours of riding to break her in. She hates the rich mixture. Im changing to 24:1 ratio for the next 8 hours. Also be advised that after 4 hours of run time there will be alot of shavings in the oil until breakin is complete. (change the oil often , after every 6-8 hours of run time.) Good luck. R. 74bronco302
yeah unforunatley i figured if there was torque stripe on the bolts they should be torqued. i bought a brand new bike that was supposed to be ready to go this is because of there neglagence. a guy that i happened to meet at the trails guessed were i bought it becuase of the faulty assembly he was right. again at the question at hand how messed up could everything have gotten and what should be done. thanks
Dinner
The only thing I could really see being a problem is maybe a bent shock tab that the bolt run through. And depending on how much it was bouncing around, maybe bend the upper taps near the headlights. Unless you were riding it really hard, I can't see too much being a problem, but this is in MO. peterlocal22
You should kick yourself right square in the ass for not checking it over completely before you rode it........... i dont agree, when you buy a new bike you should not have to run arouund with a wrench checking every nut and bolt. thats the main reason for buying a new bike its suppose to be ready to go. 74bronco302, i dont know if you hurt anything, infact i doubt you did. thee bikes are pretty tuff and take a beating. my buddy flipped his banshee hard and other than a couple cosmetic bumps it was fine. on another not you should at least try and get something out of the dealership you got it from. not only could have the bike been damaged but you could have been killed and this was all because the bike was not built to specifications. I think the dealership is liable. again I would try to get something but dont hold your breath, lol. good luck and keep us updated on what happens. peter

That's a great theory but unfortunately there are to many shitty dealers out there Anyone who buys a Banshee should have enough sense to go over every nut bolt and screw before the first ride, It only takes a few min. If he would have done that then he wouldn't of taken the chance of breaking his neck, or doing damage to his bike. He also could have been out riding instead of wondering what he can get for free while they half ast his bike back together.
Michael Jackson
old two stroke - when you buy a new car, do you drive it straight home, bring it in your garage and go over every nut and bolt on it? while theres alot of idiots at dealerships, it shouldnt be a crime to assume that the brand new bike you just payed $6000 for isnt gona fall apart because they dont know how to use a 14 and 17mm wrench
Old Two-Smoke
Dosent everybody? Thats why I have a hoist in the hanger  I agree that it should have been done right, but you really should check yourself a banshee can hardly be compared to a car.... fastLANE
I would demand that they give you a NEW bike due to there neglagence. It is abosolute crap that you should have to go over bolts that where on a new bike that you bought new at the dealership. You could easily have been killed because of it. I also ride sport bikes and let me tell you if anything came loose at the 170 that street bikes are capable of then the consequence would be death. I would raise hell in the dealership (the sales section) untill they did right by you. I would be there everyday telling everyone that walked in the door what they did to me until the did the right thing. I assume this happened on the first ride and you had just picked the bike up with in the past few weeks right? If you've had the bike awhile then i dont know what to tell you. Bottom line is if you buy a new bike from a dealer they are responsible for the neglant mechanic assuming you or anyone else hasnt touched a tool to the thing Edited March 9, 2008 by fastLANE

You are soooo wrong, the last 5 Banshees I have bought in the crate and assembled myself. And the point was the FIRST RIDE I wouldn't trust any of the dip-shits throwing together bikes for dealers. It may be different back east but out here the dealers pays a warehouse to store the bikes and put them together, many don't speak English
