I know I felt a difference on my ported stock jugs going from cpis to shearers.

It should be the same with the cub. just my prefrence but i'd go with the shearers.

and the fitment of the stingers around the air filters is much, much better also.

BTW, you gettting your cub ported?

I will give my opinion on pipes...

My big riff with shearers are the quality, they fit like a bucket of shit, chrome doenst last at all, and they are not good for my style of riding. That being said, if you are going for a race bike more then a dune/ hill bike shearers are great pipes if you can put up with the fit and shitty chrome... I ran shearers on my 421 last year, ran like crazy on top but would have been a pitiful hillbike because it had no bottom end at all.

I have seen RIPPENS bike tear shit down all over with CPIs so thats what I went with on this cub I just built.

IF you are going to look at outframes, I would look at RDZ pipes. They look the best, run amazing and are a fraction of the cost of shearers.. never done much with CPI outframes so I cant say anything about them.

hey i got that same mechanics chair thingy  except my fatass broke one of the wheels off... my suggestion would be to stick with your CPI's since you already got them, but shearers would be cool to have, thats what im getting as soon as i get the cash, oof though.

I run on asphault and dirt, but lately, it's been mostly dirt. I've had Shearer oof and CPI inframes, and I kept the CPIs. The Shearer oofs pulled good on top. They could run higher rpms than my cpi's, but they didnt' get me any better et's. They don't drop off hard but if I didn't do a perfect hole shot, it was over. I couldn't recover a bog at all w/the shearers. The CPI pipes have a little better bottom end to recover on a bad holeshot. I won $ w/my CPIs, but never w/the shearers. I'm not saying anything bad about shearers...I'm just saying that for my setup/ability/conditions, the cpi pipes worked good for me, so you should probably get some seat time w/yours since you already have them. I like mine. I never dynoed either set of pipes, but I would guess the cpi pipes peaked a little earlier and fell off a little sharper than the shearers, but probably came into the power earlier than the shearers. I would have to be a more consistant launcher to use the shearers. Enjoy!

Kiel,

Matt uses a good chromer now. So the chrome isnt as bad as before... althought he still hasnt fixed the left pipe thing the stingers fit much better over the pods!

a guy i used to ride with had a ported stocker with CPI and it ran good, he sold them and got a set of Shearers and it ran quite a bit harder, although liek said it was a topend differnace.

I had angled intakes so my filters ect cleared the shearers, but i had about an inch and a half of spacers on both sets so they would clear my cub cylinder... My CPIs pretty much fell on, i could have thrown them across the room and got them mounted up pretty close...
