jamebo
What's up everyone? I tried to do a search on this but kept getting an error page. I was wondering if anyone has used the type of lock that secures the disc rotor and has an alarm built in. I found one of them online called Xena, but read it had a negative feedback comment. Does anyone know of any good ones out there? I have pretty good security on my quads, but to be honest I live in a rough neiborhood and feel that a little bit of extra protection wouldn't hurt. Bansh-eman
your best bet is probly to get a nice strone cable and tie it to something. those brake disc things dont work for shit. plus it can still be lifted up.
jamebo
That's similar to what the feedback was on the Xena type. The guy was saying that the alarm wouldn't arm itself unless you bumped it around a little, and on something like that i would definitely want something that worked good and that I didn't have any doubts on! Thanks for the reply.
Animalman294
Ya, with the locks I know the breaded cables are better than the twisted ones, and a good kryptonite lock works great. But to be totally honest about it, it only really keeps the honest people honest, because if they really want the bike it will be sittin' in there garage the next morning. I would also consider maybe talkin' to a neighbor and workin' out something to maybe store it in the corner. Just a thought................ Really? We use/sell them and have had great luck ! You just bump the bike or even move it inches and they go off. Then they rearm themselves after a bit. I havent seen to many people that can totally lift and carry (very far) your Banshee without moving the wheels a tiny bit. You just dont want to get em wet, or have a drag rotor with all the holes and not much metal to mount it too.
jamebo
I am fortunate to have good neigbors on either side of me, and we look out for each other as much as possible. There are alot of good people around where I live, but there are also a couple of drug houses close by, which attract a lot of shady characters at all times of the day & night. I have a few security items. I figured with the disc alarm combined with the other things I have, maybe it would cause enough commotion to scare them off. But you are right, Animalman294. Locks only keep honest people honest. Was that the Xena model, FASTOYS? I've heard there are several different kinds out there, just don't know the brands. Thanks again for the replys, guys.
