caddyman
So I have some extra cash coming...not taxes, settlement. But there are some things I want to get for the shee. I'm torn between bling.......or performance. I know....bla,bla... but I have motor work done, could use some V Force3 reeds maybe, coolhead...looking for a bolt on performance boost. But, I need nurf bars, +4 or +6 swinger, or +2+1 A-Arms...... Shouldn't really say NEED, more like want. Anyway, what would you guys spend $800ish on.?? jmd0346
Welded Trued crank....Trinity internals, some more stuff......it's pretty fast now, but could be lots faster! What pipes? Id get a good port job and maybe some 30mm OKO's. $800 should cover that. Could Give you 55-65+ hp depending on port style, tune and pipes. inthemail
show your motor some love, make it pretty wih pc. mabye a 1-5 override with neutral down? a billet clutch basket and new clutch? perhaps stock up on preventitave maitenance supplies like chainlube filter oil tranny oil wd40 soap that sort of thing. need any tools?? those are great to have. anytime i come across extra money and wanna throw it into my hobbies i always buy the stuff i dont need right then because as soon as you need the shit your broke and cant get it. pisses me off. blingbling can be achieved with patience and love, you cant buy that and the bolt on bling well lets face it, only looks so good compared to something you do yourself. overall what would i buy RIGHT NOW with $800? -put it aside and add to it untill i have another $600, then send my bottom end to fast for case porting and just about everything else i can stuff my bottom end with besides things from the crank up. (straight cuts, overide, new clutch, new basket, inner and outer hubs, pancake bearing, new seals, billet pump and so on, you know just about all the goodies, new and fresh) then id look at it untill i had another 2 grand lump sum for crank cylinders head pistons porting..... fear me maritime 4 strokes, for you shall laugh no more you parent grovelling sluts, go home and make your dad buy you a big bore kit to fuck up. hahahhahahahahhahahahahha banshees rule! jayzx10r
Welded Trued crank....Trinity internals, some more stuff......it's pretty fast now, but could be lots faster! What kind of riding do you do? What exhaust and what "internal" mods? It's hard to help you determine what the best bang for the buck is without the above info. MOTOR: If is basically stock aside from the welded crank: An exhaust that compliments your type of riding. This is the #1 thing!! Porting is always good. A set of Boyesen Power Reeds. Cool Head. Get rid of the airbox if you can...or get one of the aftermarket ones. A reasonable oversize carb setup. Timing Plate. 200Watt Stator. SUSPENSION: Braided Brake Lines. Different front "A" arms/shocks. Works are an inexpensive good choice. +2 swingarm for sand or a +4 for hill climbing. Different rear shock. 1 1/8" handlebar. Steering stem. Better wheels/tires. Better lights. Bling is OK when you are parked, but when you ride you will have wished you spent your money under the seat!! Could Give you 55-65+ hp depending on port style, tune and pipes. I have Toomy T5 pipes. and I beleive stock carbs. The guy I got it fom wasn't the builder of the motor......so I got the general list of motor work. Stock head, I was thinking adding a Coolhead, bigger carbs, ect. it's fast enough for me now, but as I go it won't be. My riding is Dunes, and fire road type stuff. lots of hauling ass, not much trails.

My riding is Dunes, and fire road type stuff. lots of hauling ass, not much trails. Get a cool head first thing. Cool heads arent good all because they cool better but you can dial in your compression. If you have a piston failure and damage the dome you can just swap it. I have a Vitos Hemi head and recommend it. Actually they have a Hemi 2 now. There are several others that are just as good though. Then Id get a good port job. Id say a dune port. Seems like the dune port most builders do is pretty aggresive but not a full drag port. Those two mods will take care of your 800 bux. When you get some more money get some 30mm OKO's or similar. They are a good all around carb. Dont go bigger than you need. Those 30mm's will handle alot of engine. IMO the setup I have on my bike is about the best for most of us. Now I dont mean the exact parts I just mean the overall package. Id say it makes in the 60 hp range and is a handfull to ride. Which is what we want right? LOL Im 6' 215 and in pretty good shape and it works me. A 150lb dude would be a danger on this thing. Seriously its still rideable in the trails, a good drag racer and hauls serious ass on open roads and trails. Ive had it since new in 2000 and I researched on this site before I bought parts. Like I said I think its the best overall style of setup for most folks. You are headed in the right direction with yours.

But where I've been riding I havn't really gotten to use it all........3rd and 4th gear mostly. We are heading to the dunes first week in April, so I'll get a better feel for it and hope fully I can get some of this done before we go. My buddys ride 700 rappys and I want to kick their asses. hehe.....

You get what I outlined for you and a Raptor shouldnt be a problem in a drag race. Ive never run one but Ive run a 660 Raptor on spray and beat it over and over. Friend of mine. The new 450's arent even a race for my bike. In a drag race I mean. They have much better suspension setups for the track. Trails Id say the Banshee is still better but thats just opinion. My brothers Honda 450R rides through trails like it doesnt have suspension. It pushes through turns. A Banshee rides like a damn Caddy! I guess its just what you get used to.
