i know this is a banshee forum but i thought i could get more unbiased opinons here,i want to get a yfz450 but i have a freind who has a 05 raptor 660,and someone wha has a ltr450,the raptor is clean barely 4 hrs on it and some mods he said he will sell it to ME for 2500 (black limited ed),the ltr is clean also he wants 3900 its stock not a scratch on it,i was thinking about buying the raptor and trading it for a yfz450,since they say the raptor 700 is better than the 660,what would you guys do yfz450--raptor 660-ltr450or should i try a raptor 700.

I have a YFZ and Raptor 700 and like them both. I love the torque of the 700, a couple mods and they are a force to contend with. YFZs are fun, but I prefer the 700.

Your going to get a million different responses. It all depends on what type of riding you want it for. Ltr450 is awesome for mxin, yfz450 is great for mxin/woods/dunes,raptor 700 is hella sweet for power/speed. Raptor 660....Outdated. My play banshee smacks 660s around all day

yeah that was kinda plain but i am a banshee man, my first atv was a shee and thats all i know and owned,on my shee all i do is dragrace my freinds or whoever and go on long mostly flat trail rides as long as my fuel will take me,with a four stroke i could go longer(fill up at gas stations)and do more serious trail riding,i live in maryland/DC i never even seen a sand dune.but i figured i would be better off asking here than a yfzor raptor or ltr forum, what better place to help my decision than a forum of people who ride the same bikes as me.

If your going to go with a Craptor and you have a choice get the 700 its a far better bike than the 660. The yfz450s are lighter and quicker/more nimble through the technical stuff than the raptor but the raptor has endless torque and its a comfy ride. Better for flat wide open stuff. The Rap SEs have the same front end as the yfz450s which is a plus. I Personaly would get the yfz450 over any 4 poke but I ride very aggresivly I like the tight stuff and rain cant soak what is not there!:)

thats what i mean, people say the raptor is nice why do you guys call it a craptor, because one of the most important things i want is durability,i dont want to have to major repairs all the time, but i do like speed and power so i am looking for a all around solid bike, you know like a shee but a 4 stroke.

haha, its just a name that fits is all. We 2 stroke guys like to jag off people who switch to 4 pokes as you can see. The Raptor 700s are very reliable bikes. Of course you have to take care of them but they arent much mateinence at all. Grease, fresh oil/gas coolant ect.. The early Model 01s and some 02 660 Craptors have been notourious:) for having bad trannys though. I would stay away from any 01 660 for sure. 02- 03 and up are pretty solid bikes. Just a whole bunch of torque. Yamaha made the rite move by switching to the 700 for sure its a more stable more powerfull bike its all about what you can afford.

I have spent quite a bit of time on the yfz450 and a honda 450. I like the suspension on the yfz, I liked the tranny and brakes on the honda a lot more. will probably be getting the yfz though as i have so many tires that will fit the yamaha. I really like how light it feels compared to the banshee, especially in the tight rough stuff. dont think you can go wrong with any of them. Would love to spend some time on the new KTM. If money wasn't an issue, i would probably get the 525

i wouldnt get a 660. they arent that impressive. the 700s seems to be much better though. i think a 700 would be my choice of 4 stroke.

a ktm would be sweet too except it doesnt sound like you are looking for brand new so no used ktms for a while
