jmd0346
I went 73 in the eighth on my bike when it only had pipes, pro design filter kit, Vitos power pistons. Ive never run it since then. Gearing I imagine is going to limit your top speed, to a degree, no matter how much power you make. You just get there faster. On a 60 hp bike Id guess 85-90 mph. I could be way off. Ive had some riding buddies say they GPS'd there bikes at 110-120 mph. I raced them with mine a put a many lengths on them in a 1/4-3/8 mile run. They acted like my bike was the second coming. LOL Either they were lying or the GPS was screwed up.

Ya im not so sure i agree with the gps readings, i got a 97 with fatty's, reeds, 30mm oko's, .020 overbore, hinson clutch, few other mods on a 45 tooth rear and fac front, said i was doing 79mph right before my leftbank seized. i weigh 220, 6ft2. i just dont think it'll go that fast with that gearing, who really gives a shit how much "top-end" you have? you going to be hiting 80mph on the dunes for an extended period of time? haha focus more on learning your bike and how to manipulate the power of it instead of fiddle fucking around with whos got the 'fastest' topend quad! cuz i can gurantee ya one thing, the next guy has a faster one cuz his pockets are deeper... Ryda85
go to a 1/4 mile track and run it...and bam you got your top speed. dont go by gps ....my gps said i did over 220mph on my 600rr that tops out at about 160-170ish. or use the gps get a 125mph reading than go sell your bike on ebay
Snopczynski
gps is the most accurate, but you have to stay in the operating range of the gps unit. Some of the cheap pieces of shit aren't accurate at higher speeds.
Trick2stroke
I used a police radar, one of those they put on the side of the road and clocked mine at 84-85. I have a 15T front and 40T rear, pt mids, aftermarket foam filter, and that's about it. It's all in the gearing.

jmd0346
It doesnt matter that much to me. I rarely get up in top gear. It would be cool to know what these things will do though for coversation sake. If I had to guess my bike probably makes 60-65hp maybe. Weighs 380-400 lbs I think. It'd be neat to know what that with stock gearing will get you. 6th is a tall gear. If you have the power to pull it out these things should see some pretty good top speeds. If you can pull 6th up into the rpms pretty far I dont see why 90-100mph wouldnt be possible. Just a guess though. Hell Ive seen Banshees do 115 in the 1/8th. Obviously very powerful but obviously geared as well. When I run my bro I can hang till about my 4th. Then he starts to walk me. Once I get up into top gear we even out pretty much. He rides a CR500. Not sure what they run top end. They're 5 speeds. Have about 60+hp stock. Weigh around 220 i think.
dajogejr
well i got t5 pipes, cool head with 20cc domes, v force reeds, dynatek set on # 3, and im running 50/50 race gas amd 93pump gas, 13/42 sprockets 21's on the rear tires......im at sea level if that makes a difference.....so what do you think my top would be???? and i weight 180lbs. 70ish. You have a 13 on front, stock is 14... On a bone stock bike, and I mean BONE STOCK, I hit 73 or 74MPH in the 1/4 mile (I was tapped before the 1/8 mile mark) I removed the fenders on the bike and picked up 3 MPH. It doesn't matter what stock is....it's about gearing, tire size and HP to pull gearing to go faster..... According to the calculator, if you rev out to 9000 or 9500 with your tire size and gearing, you'll top out between 69 and 72 MPH. Put the 14 tooth back on front and gain 4 or 5 MPH..... Sure it will get there a lot quicker than a basic mod Banshee with the same gearing. But really it won't be that much faster, it will go somewhat faster due to RPM Increase due to porting. But 13/40 Gear Ratio is only going to go so far, and an engine's RPM can only go so far. I am guessing your shee will do around the 70's, possibly 80's MPH Range. Also depends on if you are going downhill, tail wind, etc, lol.
qboronyrican
so your telling me i added all these things to the bike and with the stock gear ratio it still will only go in the 70's like it did from the factory??? but it will just get their faster....and if i change the gearing it will go faster but take longer to get thier???? Yes and No. Your bike will only go as fast as your gearing and tire size...no matter if you have 35 or 120 HP. Now...higher HP bikes normally rev out further, take that into consideration. You run higher gearing on bigger bikes for a few reasons...with too small gearing, you just fry the tires and run through gears. With enough HP....you get through the gears no problem... Again...bigger gearing will get you more top end IF your motor has the HP to pull it..and pull it EFFECTIVELY. What good is monster gearing to do 85 MPH if your piped banshee takes forever to get there? The calculator doesn't have to take into effect HP, all it has to do is allow variables, which it does, by engine RPM, gearing and tire size. qboronyrican
i think i understand what your saying....so with my mods, what gearing do you think i should run and/or what gearing do you think would be borderline to much for my bike to EFFECTIVELY pull???
