BANSHEE RAN LIKE CRAP AGAIN IN GLAMIS 4 THE THIRD TIME

had a really bad weekend guys had it tuned and dialed in here in la ran good, once i got to glamis it ran like shit, stock carbs 300 main jet and still sounded like it was running lean asking 4 more gas, i do not want to do this but i think i might have to just purchase a 4 stroke , i am gettin tired of all the wrenching, i understand that the power does not compare, but i want to be able to ride my bike not wrench on it while out there, also could anyone recommend a good shop out here in the los angeles area for me so that they could dial the bike in for glamis conditions, thanks...

I agree, if you think changing your jetting for different elevations or weather, and can't handle doing some reading in the jetting forum, you might as well get a 4-stroke.

 

If you want to keep your bike, go to the jetting forum and make a post with your mods, and where you ride and you will get some replies that will give you a good idea of where you should be.

 

Just ti give you an idea... we ride at 7500ft to 8500ft and we run anywhere from 290 to 330 main on piped and filtered bikes. You are lean with a 300 at sea level.

I was at glamis for New Years and I have a banshee with T-5's, stock carbs and K&N pod filters and I ran 310 mains with the Toomey needle and my bike ran tits...

A portjob doesn't always require higher jetting since bigger intake ports kinda vaccume thru the jets.

This time I ended up with 290 Jets 27.5 Pilot on K&N Pods with a Shaved Head, I played with the a/f screw and felt pretty good at 2 turns out, never got to play with my jetting after a broken wheel but the plugs looked healthy after a WOT run. We had another Banshee in our camp same exact mods on 310's and it was way too rich. Every shee requires diff attention but the 370's sound too high for me..

not true.... at sea level on stock porting stock carbs with airbox lid off and pipes. a 310 main should be right on the money. way back in the day i ran a 310 main 27.5 pilot stock needle 3rd clip 2.5 turns and was spot on

 

He has NO airbox, he has K&N pods. A LOT more airflow than a box with no lid.

He is lean.
