The need for race fuel is dictated by compression and timing advance for the most part. You could easily build a nice ported strocker motor to be ran on premium pump fuel. Keep your compression under 150 and be conservative with your timing advance and you'll be just fine. I would find a reputable builder in your area or on here, they will discuss your riding style and needs to come up with a plan that works for you.
