Wildcardracing
You'll be just fine running your stock intake parts with 28mm carbs. Carbs larger than 28mm will require larger intake manifolds.
qboronyrican
ok but what about performance wise...are the built in crossovers better and what about the reed stuffers????

Those fancy billet intakes are just bling imo, the reed stuffers offer a gain.
qboronyrican
so the stuffers and the v-forces can be used with stock manifolds and boots???

rubberneck
when you use v-force with stock intakes, you have to cut part of the stock intakes off. The back side of the stock intakes protrudes in to the intake tract. You have to cut that protrusion off. Once you get it off, you will see exactly what im talking about. I used a realy sharp knife and cut it off (its rubber) worked great. I dont know if stuffers will offer a performance advantage if you stick with the stock intakes as the v-force cage matches up to the diameter of the stock intakes. jbooker82
You can run 28mm carbs with stock intakes but I would just get a Boss or White Knuckle Racing intake with built in crossover tube. They are not just for looks. They move the carbs up and back so the bowl doesnt hit on the clutch arm. They also clean up the area because you dont have an external cross over tube or boost bottle. Plus if you need to replace the carb boots they are 15 bucks from Dennis Kirk.
shanYE west
I wouldn't recommend using the cascade stuffers unless your intakes manifolds dont match the VF3 stuffer. Cascade designed the stuffers to use with there 2 into 1 set-ups. If your looking to get a new set of manifolds the BOSS and Whitekuckle are the way to go.. The built in corssover tube is nice and they make for a clean look. The whiteknuckle intakes match the VF3 stuffer so there would be no need to get the cascade stuffers. But if you get the BOSS racing intake you might have to..

For 160$, you get a nice, shinny piece of billet and the ablilty to mount a bigger carb, than stock. IMHO. If your 28's will mount to your stockers, I'd suggest using them and cut the insides out for your vforce3's and take that 160 and put it twards a cool head or a adjustable timing plate.
