RoostRocket
no what you should do is just get some cpi's k&n pods advance your timing and get a noss cool head... lol. j/k man i think you can just wash it with a mild dish soap and then oil it with the air filter oil and i believe they are basically all the same but maybe someone else will chime in to verify that. jamebo
I used PJ1 filter cleaner & oil on my filter when it was the stock foam. It works pretty good. Still use it on my other quad and my wifes wolverine.

rubberneck
I have used a lot of different cleaners/oils. IMHO for a foam filter, the best is the honda shit which is made by Notoil. So you can get the notoil or the Honda, same shit. Works great and is available in an aerosol which makes it nice to apply the oil evenly. leaves a nice sticky film of oil and the cleaner takes it out really easily. Nothing gets by that stuff. I use it on everything from the nitro RC cars to the lawnmower and my bikes with foam cleaners.
Cannon
To clean my K&N pods, I use "Simple Green" spray cleaner. Inexpensive & you can buy it anywhere, works great!
Banshee Chad
cool, thanks guys. glad i checked before i cleaned them. I gotta do mine and my wifes bike so ill head down to plaza cycle and get some foam filter cleaner and oil. Thanks again guys!
Michael Jackson
id get rid of that stock filter setup asap if you can..they dont seal air tight against the airbox, they are crap, you need a setup with an adapter plate that bolts to the airbox with an oring and a filter that hose clamps around it so its all air tight
Face
I used dish soap, and a little elbow grease on mine.
csrmel
most of those expensive filter oils are just regular oil with a tacifier added to it to make the oil sticky. same thing as chainsaw bar and chain oil. only bar and chain oil costs about $3 a gallon at walmart. to clean the filter, dish soap, simple green, engine degreaser, purple power, etc all work well. Banshee Chad
I picked up some pj1 cleaner and the oil. shit, sprayed the cleaner on, let it set for an hour, and rinsed it off. Took out all the oil and dirt. did a damn good job, only had to spray once. Drying now, so ill see how the oil goes on tomorrow. you talking about a k&n clamp on? not a fan of k&n, they seem to let too much big stuff in. Seen to many friends running them on diesels and gas engine trucks and quads and they mess every thing up. i had one on my warrior and switched it back after i had to rebuild the top end cuz it got too much dirt in it (and yes, i cleaned it regularly), also had one in my s10, and made the computer give all sorts of weird readings, so i went back to paper one. I would like to run a paper filter with an un oiled foam sleeve, similar to what polaris puts in their trailblazer and sportsmans. Dont know if that would work well with the banshee or not, what you guys think?? Thanks alot guys, Chad
